I've never seen it start to finish.

Just noticed the great scene where Hopper says a few words to Captain Joe Hazlewood's picture.

Lol....

The quad 50 scene is worth watching.

As odd as the movie is I find it strangely enjoyable. Kinda like Road Warrior set at sea.

Exactly.

Eventually it'll break even after it gets played enough on network television.

I liked it,  in general.  It certainly had some good parts, and the overall concept, while a bit unrealistic

(there not being enough water mass on, in, and around earth to cause that level of flooding), was

still a pretty good concept for a movie.

It's hard to define why it didn't do so well.   Taken individually,  most of the components of the movie

were all quite presentable,  or better.

But put it all together, and you have a movie that is less than the sum of its parts.

It's hard to define exactly why that is.

LOL, I started a Water World thread a couple of months ago when I was shitfaced. I still say, even when sober, that anyone that does not like that movie can suck my balls. Pretty sure that's how I phrased it.

ETA: I am on my phone right now or I would set you up with a link from that thread. It went two or three pages and there were lots of insightful responses in it.

Me too, except the ships proper hailing port would be Wilmington DE, not whatever it said it was.

I had this argument with my roommate last week.  He only saw it once and doesn't remember anything about it, YET maintains that it's a horrible movie.  To that, I say HOGWASH!  This is one of my favorites and I'll never understand all the hate.

And for the record, he also claims that Lord of the Rings is shit and does so without ever having seen any of those films.

It's one of those movies that I'll always stop and watch if it's on. I never saw it at the movies when it came or though.

I got dragged to the water world show at universal studios. I mentioned that I thought I was the only person that liked the water world movie. None of the 5 people I was with knew it had been a movie.

I think he was even a member of an article written entitled movie villains that really weren't that evil lol. Wrote about how he was just basically a guy trying to save his people and bring them to dry land, and how kk was a murderer, sighting all of the innocent women and children that had to have been aboard that ship when it was torched.

I do enjoy the movie though.

This movie was much better than it was given credit for at the time. All of the press about how much it cost to make hurt it. Judged for what it is, and not what it costs its a pretty decent film.
