I suppose it'd be satisfied if I got up off my dead ass and drove to the store to get some.
 but nothing good happens after 11pm and I'll live until tomorrow.
So I have several choices: Blenheim's...made right here in SC. POWERFUL STUFF Canada Dry Possibly some store brand. I have not seen Vernors Ginger Ale in this part of the world ever. |

Best generally available ginger beer/ale I've had is Reed's Extra Ginger Brew.
Reed's Extra Ginger There are some other regional brands out there that are better, but finding them? Good 'effing luck. Reeds is consistent, and good. Fever Tree ain't bad, either--You can taste the raw ginger in it, quite clearly. Vernors, Schweppes, or any of the other "major brands" just don't cut it. They're mostly artificial flavor, and corn syrup. Screw that... I want it real. |

If you want a hella tasty treat put a can of Vernors and a few scoops of vanilla ice cream in the blender. It's called a "Boston Cooler" and is rock-your-socks-off yummy! |

They're too strong for me to want to drink them with most food or very frequently but Reed's and Gosling's ginger beers are pretty stout. They're great with say Carribean and Thai flavors but my tongue says "no" to having one with anything that isn't pretty bold.
Schweppes is my favorite ginger ale but it's a travesty that the 2 best drinks they bottle aren't available in the US. Schweppes Russchian and Lemon Mint are outfriggin standing fizzy drinks. Yes it's pale pink and it's in my DNA to hate anything Russian but shit is tasty

When I was a kid a yankee family moved across the street from me. The dad moved to work at a Goodyear plant.
Their son drank Vernor's almost exclusively. They used to bring it back from "up north" by the case. It's good stuff, no doubt. Been 25 years or so since I've had any, but I remember it. |

Sprecher is probably my favorite. It's made with honey and has a complex, dry flavor. Oddly enough, it actually has hints of old oak or sawdust amongst the flavors. It almost tastes like the smell of an old mill or sawn wood in a tasty way. It's difficult to explain and I've never had anything else like it, but it's good.
From their website: "Our ginger ale is a sophisticated soda, pale in color and reminiscent of a light, sparkling chardonnay. Its complex flavor is very dry on the palate, combining the bite of ginger ale with a surprising hint of oak. A truly unique taste experience. Nothing like the ginger ale you are used to!" Eta: looking at the amazon reviews, it seems like some people don't respond to the flavor well. I personally enjoy it, but it might not be for everyone. |
