Once the manager scanned and said "We have X of those in stock" I went to electronics and asked for one. They said "We don't have them" and I said "The manager just confirmed you do". They "looked" under the counter, blocking me from seeing what was in there, while pulling out one series 3 watch ($54 IIRC). I said "I need another one of those, and also a Series 4 in black" and the girl glared at me and handed them over. I then went to sporting goods to tell the awesome employee they had there that the Apple Watches were on clearance, in case she wanted one for her kid.
When I walked back past electronics, there were 4-5 employees sacking that cabinet.
I can't say that I wouldn't be trying to jump on a deal like that were I an employee, but it pissed me off when they tried to hide stuff. Either buy it or don't, but if you haven't bought it and I ask for it, you should sell it to me.

Woulda been nice to get that, because I went in for an apple watch se 2nd gen to replace my wifes old apple watch series 3. That happened a few years ago when brickseek still worked. Lady at the counter was taking it out from under, I heard her say "Zack was gonna buy these, but he put them under the counter last week and hasn't done it yet." . I hate when employeed do that so I bought them. Havent even opened them yet though.
