The problem with most cops is they are seeking power and that’s why they became an officer. Someone seeking power is the last person that should have it.

Lol. Shows pictures of outright tyranny, and calls it oppression. Opression is just tyranny's next door neighbor, but we're in the neighborhood. I wonder what would compel an old woman to go out and 1A check the po? No blue hair, no cat eye glasses. I'm going to go with her, or someone she loves, has already had to pick up that can. You see it way more statist. Gfy.

I am willing to accept the world isn't perfect and the way I want it. If being a 1A auditor is going to bring about real, good change then that's great. If it just generates more hate for the police and continues to reduce the pool of good people willing to be police, it's kind of a self fulfilling activity. What led up to the video, you and I don't know. We just see the very end and what looks like police brutality. In the mean time I think I will go fuck myself.

That makes sense.  It didn't really hit my small town until later.  About the time zero tolerance to drunk driving became the biggest sin known to man.

I don't know if policing in America is fixable in a peaceful manner. My opinion is 1A auditors like this are not the way to do it (it looks like she has had many incidents with the law over 1A auditor style interactions). I don't know how you fix it, but these sad outcomes are also predictable. I bet I could go film police and push the boundaries and find someone who doesn't follow department policy or power trips. I don't know what this accomplishes except bring to light that all interactions with the police aren't always great, but to me this was already obvious.

During the investigation, Carolyn Rodriguez approached the officers. In a statement, FWPD said an officer asked Rodriguez to move across the street, and when she did not, the officer forcefully arrested her.

She was later released from the hospital, booked into jail, and charged with Interference with Public Duties, Resisting Arrest and/or Detention, Evading Arrest and False Alarm or Report.

Kind of like when an abuser blames their victim. When a rapist blames his victim…

She made him do it, nevermind he wanted to.

This one wasn't pushing any boundaries; these cops were ticketing and towing cars, not in the process of arresting Pablo Escobar.

Whatever you might think is wrong with policing in general, it won't be made better by pretending nothing is happening.

See, that's kinda my thought as well.

During all these "isolated incidents", how many times have any of the others present even spoken up, much less take any action to stop the over the top / excessive actions?

If the story about nobody hating bad cops worse than good cops had any validity to it, I'd think we'd see somebody somewhere taking some action either at the scene in real time or at the least after, the fact when the CYA police reports come out.

So WTF are we supposed to think?

I'd say that what generates hatred for the cops are hot head idiots with no self control like Krueger, who'd already been fired from Irving PD and has had a bunch of shady use of force incidents in Fort Worth. Officers like this destroy public trust by treating citizens that they interact with like garbage without any YouTubers present.

Auditors wouldn't have anything to put on their channels if there weren't so many poorly trained and malicious actors in PDs around the country.

I probably wouldn't want to hang out with most 1st amendment auditors. They Mostly seem like d-bags to me, just like most of the cops I've interacted with in real life.

When I walk into a .gov office and the public servant who has been sitting behind the desk for the last 20+ years, treats me like she's doing me a favor for simply doing her job, they need to be exposed.

1A auditors expose shitty public servants.

It generates more hate for the police when they keep getting fucking recorded doing illegal and really terrible shit.  When he tells her to go on the other side of the street and then about 4 seconds later tells her she is under arrest and slams her to the ground, that is the kind of shit that generates more hate for the police.  Even if he decided she needed to be arrested why the slam on the ground?  Was he scared she might get the drop on him while she was holding her phone up recording?  Why the "stop resisting" bullshit while she was on the ground sounding like she was dying?

What led up to the video?  They were towing cars.  She was filming them and asking questions.  If she had done anything previous to deserve a slam to the ground on her face you would have to assume they would have already done it and not had their back to her.

LEO are put in bad positions yes, but this wasn't one of them.  Just like the dick stealing $900 or the guy that supposedly ran a stop sign and was shot running away.  Those are not bad positions, just bad decisions.   This particular guy was a bad apple and more than likely everyone around him knew it and knew he had already been fired by a neighboring department but did nothing.

Actually he does. I bet there are a LOT more people than you think that feel this way.  Take away anyone w/ a cop in their family and it goes way, way, up.

2nd sentence.  The problem is, their actions are NOT thoroughly and effectively investigated, basically it's cover-up, deny, delay, defend; where do you think the phrase 'we investigated ourselves and found ourselves innocent' came from? They quietly resign and move to the next department where they can continue their shitty, angry life.  Unfortunately they are the ones allowed to take out their anger and aggression on the public.

Most people alive deal with annoyances all the time and you don't see the general public pile driving old ladies; the only thing this lady was guilty of was being there and annoying the cop, and if that's the gauge (or situation as you call it) for being able to face-plant an old lady it's wrong.  This was not a 'situation', it was a small dicked op who did not want his authority questioned..... that's it.

If cops had to carry something similar to malpractice insurance or a bond, this shit would stop real quick.  Or as others say, take it out of their pensions.

At what point can a bystander use force to defend the victim?

resident cops will say never, only their brothers in arms can stop them. if bystander does, they’ll also be arrested and charged with obstruction and impeding an investigation just to make the citizens’ life more miserable.

It used to be that one could defend themselves against illegal arrest. Many states took it off the books because the court system was in place to resolve issues and "modern policing", training made it "safer" for the victim for the law to be rescinded.

Now that the system is corrupted, maybe it needs to be re-addressed.

2 or 3 states still have it on the books last time I checked.

JFC. Police - stop fucking killing people. This shit is not difficult.  Also, fuck your "commands " Your authority ended when you let lawlessness take over via the summer of love in 2020. You serve no purpose to us normal citizens now. You are only an instrument for the Democrats.

Much like the other video on page 1 here- the problem is that the police give some citizen a command, then lose their shit when it isn't immediately followed perfectly.  If you have to give a lawful command (especially to someone who was not involved), fucking tell them what's going on and don't just say something then lose your shit because your authority was questioned or ignored.

The fucking public hates you.  You have and continue to earn that hate.

Stop killing people is worthy of a LOL?

The tone deaf replies from the cops and their supporters here on this forum and even this thread alone solidify my stance and police.

I was an adamant defender of Chauvin and Porter on this site and thought they both got railroaded.   Both of those situations were less egregious than the few posted here in the last 24 hours. There came a point when it became impossible to keep defending bad actions and the cover up from all involved in so many of these cases. The fact that we see some new video or 3 daily showing outrageous behavior is telling.  My respect for police went out the window when they as a whole in nearly any city in America let crime run rampant in 2020 and instead of dealing with actual criminals decided to pick on members of the general public because it was safer for them.  Covid enforcement put the final nail in the coffin.

In this case, I think the officers fucked up.

The LOL is at the screeching ACAB rant.

Sad to say but police are no longer your friends.

Covid pretty much confirmed that

I’ll even go back before that.  The 55 mph speed limit did a lot to perpetuate that attitude on both sides.

That’s a new take.

“If you aren’t getting genocided, shut the fuck up and stop complaining”

You’re only allowed to complain once you are in the concentration camp/gulag.
