Any body have any nice looking pistols with some custom scroll work, engraving or coloring?
My wife is really into custom pistols, and she really wants one after watching the recent Angelina Jolie movie "Wanted". Which is fine with me, the more guns I buy the happier I am. ETA: Photo for referance.

I have never been a fan of "fancy guns."
To me, simple everyday working guns have all the inherent beauty I could ever ask for. |

From the Smith & Wesson Forum, a post with this gun owned by a regular there who is the world's foremost collector of the S&W 44 Magnum, and the Model 29 that followed it:
44 Magnum shipped in February 1957 and later engraved and inlaid with gold by Alvin White (who also made the stocks made of stag). Mr. White did a lot of work for S&W and was the principal of Alvin White Engravers (early 60s to early mid-70s).

Got this for my brother's wedding this year. I actually did the grips myself with a dremel, so I don't want to hear about the imperfections lol.

You'll need to start with a Matchmaster slide and frame from Olympic Arms...they carry the Safari Arms brand now.....I'd get parts other than what Oly may use and have them fitted to that frame and slide. Was Angelina's 1911 custom ported or was it a longslide? I can't remember. |
