So I am taking my 10.3" upper to make a Mk18 out of so I will have an extra pistol lower that I'll build a 7.5" on. Because I primarily shoot weak ammo, I am looking at these muzzle devices to help with the function. And because I love the look. But does anyone have any side by side comparison of the two? Also, can anyone recommend a rail with a large enough ID to accommodate these and will cover the junction of the barrel/comp? Probably ~9" or so.

A Samson evo rail has a big enough Id.  I use a 9" rail on an 8.5" barrel with a kx3.

I went with the Samson prior to keymod because they have direct bolt on assecories.  I think they have keymod as well.

I suppose I only say keymod since I have a KMR on my 'go to war' rifle and it would be nice to have the option of interchangeability of accessories. Not truly necessary though since they each get a dedicated light.

I used the PWS with a Troy rail. There's only a couple thou for space between them. The CQB was actually installed first with the rail slid over it to avoid scratches. In my case it provided too much "boost" so I went with a heavy buffer/spring.

It works good being behind it, but other shooters still give me the stink eye.

It works well as a flash hider until residue builds up in it.

I like it a lot. I don't even shoot my other AR's anymore.

To add, it ran fine without the heavy buffer/extra powered buffer spring, but recoiled like a jackhammer.

Do you have any trigger time on a Pig at all? Wondering how they compare.

As far as recoil- I currently have a KVP Linear Comp on my 10.3 with a SB15. This comparable at all?

No time with the pig. The PWS CQB is a similar device terminating with a flash hider instead of an open end.

On recoil,  that was a result of being a little overgassed. These muzzle devices can make an energetically cycling gun feel a bit more lively.

As a matter of course I always run the heaviest buffer/spring combo that will run my shittiest ammo. They just run smoother that way.

That's the plan for me. I usually shoot steel cased shit but have a stockpile of 193 as well. As long as it runs my steel, I'm good to go.

Thanks for the input. I will probably end up going with the PWS.
