I am on my phone but that looks like a 17, not a 19. While it does look to be in good shape, its probably not worth $700.

It is a used gen 2 glock. not rare and nothing special. Its worth 50% of asking price
It's not uncommon. I wouldn't pay $400 but it'll probably sell between $350 - $400.
There is nothing rare about a Glock. Unless it's an 18.
Offer him half. |
See all posts above.
Not rare. They do come up for sale fairly often. Why pay 700 when you can buy a Gen4 for 525-550? |
That one is actually a bit more rare than most. It has the proof marks. But certainly not worth $700. A 2nd gen G19 in excellent condition is worth about $400. That one, maybe as high $450 if you value the proof marks. If it is in truly unfired condition, original box, original magazines, maybe $500. But I wouldn't pay that unless it was going to be a safe queen.

There are a few gen 1 19s out there, I think the number is in the teens at max. The Glock 17S with a manual safety. And a few other things like that out there. |
If he is including a Gen 2 19, with the 17 he has pictured, $700 is a great price.
Otherwise, that price is outrageous. They sold for $450 new in '88. |
Its a 400-450 gun maybe a little more depending on mags and paperwork but 7 is a pipe dream. I gave 325 for my '89 no box or paper work and was tickled. That wouldn't sit for ten minutes if it was priced under 4
Why would a Glock made 25 years ago be worth more than one made today?
Go buy a new one for 1/2 the price. |

You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. That is a Glock 19 in the picture, and Glocks were about $200 out the door back then. I recently advertised a similar G19 for $440 with a box of ammo. It sold within 3 days. This is what a G17 looks like in the same style box. Look at how far the grip comes down, and how close the muzzle is to touching the front of the box. http://i1051.photobucket.com/albums/s429/613ForSalePics/FuckingInternetRetards/2514858_01_never_fired_glock_17_gen_2_9mm_640_zpsb5336070.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I don't know if it's the angle or what but it looked like a 17 to me at first too. |

DP prefix is a Glock 19 produced in May 1988, but $700 is way too steep

I saw that same ad on armslist, thought that was a outrageous price too.
Great gun, outrageous price. I bought one like new off the EE here a few weeks ago for $450 with night sighs.
Keep an eye out at most any gun shop. You can buy two of them at that price. Just about any model too. 17, 19, whatever. Just recently I saw a BNIB Gen2 G20 go for $475.
Just go look on gunbroker... |
Three years ago, I bought a good condition 1988 Gen 2 G19 with a dozen mags for $375.
I traded a used (Leo) G23 (gen3) for a mint 1993 gen 2 19.
It's my favorite of all the glocks (this is my second gen2) Would the trade not have happened I would of spent $450 on it in a heartbeat. |
$400 is the most that gun is worth. If you took it into most gunshops to trade or sell they would offer you $250. It is a great gun though.

Thanks for the replies. I am an M&P guy and had no intention of buying this thing. It just piqued my curiosity due to the age and high asking price. I guess the seller is a little confused as to what he has

While not exactly $700, there are collectors that will pay a good price for that gun. |

No, no no. Maybe $400. The only advantage to the older models are less MIM parts and no finger grooves, but they don't bother me.
recently purchased a clean gen 2 19 with box, papers and 2 original mags for $440.00, which I thought was a bit much but I generally don't see Gen 2's for sale locally. I would keep looking
Depends what it's worth to you.
I'd pay $700 for a Gen 2 G17 if it was the one in my sig line. |
My first pistol.
Regret selling it 15 years ago. Nice thing about this thread, is that it made me revisit teh SN. Guess I had it backwards. Hey, I'm working off pure memory here. |
With proof marks, box, and all factory items, I would pay a premium for another gen 2 G19 that is lightly used. Id go about as high as $550 including shipping. I definitely wouldn't pay $700, even if it was ANIB.
