Picked it up from my FFL yesterday.  625-7 in .45 Colt.  It's definitely getting new grips.  The Hogues don't fit me at all and a previous owner just threw square grips on a round butt gun.  Going to send it to TK for a moon clip conversion.

@November5

I'm not sure if you've followed any of my .45 mountain gun adventures but just so you know...

45 colt moonclips suck. They're very flimsy and .45 colt brass isn't consistent. Not even starline. 5 might fight perfect then the last so sloppy it just can't stay in.

.45acp functions perfect but due to the slightly larger chambers you lose 200fps

.45 win mag brass works perfectly with .45 colt data and fits acp moon clips. It's long enough that velocity stays where it should.

Does it need to be cut for ACP moon clips, or will either work with the same cut?

No, they both work with the same cut.

The colt has a much thicker rim hence the thin moonclips.

3 inch k frame saved me after realizing I brought the wrong .45 ammo to a match today. I didn't do half bad either

Yes, I have the stainless one too, but they also make a black steel option.  the "ultralite" is the aluminum frame option

Have you been buying them new?

Looking hard at an 856 right now but it seems experiences are 50/50
