Anyone have a source for 200 grain (±20gr) cast lead bullets for 38/357?  I would prefer powder coated.

Thanks.

Bruno's has 8 lb'ers of BE86 for $246 plus hazmat. Free shipping. Doubt you'll find it cheaper anywhere.

So I've finally mastered the American Reloading route and have fully restocked my powder magazine.  At about $28/lb - pistol and rifle.  and take this post as a helpful guide.

Step one, make an account and preload and save your credit card info

Step two during weekdays between 10 and 4, log in

Step three click the "in stock" check box, then click the GunPowder section on the left.  It will say (0) for Rifle and (0) for pistol and (0) for shotgun (beware substituting shotgun powder for pistol if there is no pistol load data- as those are lower pressure rated and can kaboom at higher pistol pressure, if not careful).

Step four repeat hourly in that window.

When your powder drops, buy what you want immediately.   Don't be a jerk and buy 10 jugs at a time, but I almost always buy 2 - as each lot requires it's own final workup, and the effort investment makes sense better for 2.  For pistol through, I just buy 1.  Do not shop while there.  Buy your order, close that deal, then go back and buy the next item if still there.

Beware the pistol powder goes almost instantly, even non-ideal powders not that great for 9mm.  Powders for .223 rounds go almost as fast.  Heavier powders for 6.5CM can take a few hours and in rare events a couple days.  Powders for cannons take a bit longer.

Primers are decent.  The GINEX small rifle appear CCI41 spec (appear), but are quite tight - so beware, especially if progressive.  Yet the GINEX pistol primers run great in a progressive.

They have some Factory Seconds primers with a 10%failure rate, which IMHO is a terrible buy, and after accounting for those losses from duds. I wouldn't touch those at half the price - though at least they are honest in the description (they usually are).  Just make sure you read.  Most of the factory seconds primers are good, just hard.  Only one batch has the 10% failure rate, and they do say so.

For bullets - their sale prices right now are variable.  Many are actually not very costly effective, and you can buy new bullets for the same price.  Midway has much better sale prices on many bullets right now, if you time it right.  Some of the bulk 55 pulls prices are OK I guess, depending.

Anyway, doing that and I restocked my powder magazine to overflowing in about 1 month.  They generally get about 1 powder drop a week. Sometimes 2, but rarely, and with very little on the second if so.

If you are near a Runnings check if they have the bucket sale going through EOD today like ours, 15% off of what you can fit in a 5 gallon bucket including ammo and components.

Prices are middling normally but, for example, this put Winchester AUTOCOMP down to $30/lb. Also you get a free bucket.

at one time that description read a 10% failure rate, which I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.  Now they are saying 0.001% failure rate.  Which, if they actually understand math, means one misfire in 100,000 rounds.  Which is probably industry standard, so I'm guessing they just sort of made that number up, and it's higher then that - or they wouldn't have said anything at all.

Still, at that price, might actually be worth it if the miswrote what they meant of it being 1/1000 - which might still be worth it for that price for plinker rounds.   I just don't know how much I trust that number.

I will say, I did get the buy their "factory seconds" LRP, and ran 5 of them today.  very happy.  In some 6.5CM test loads, velocity increased by 10 FPS and SD dropped from 11 (via SB primers) down to 9 (via factory seconds).  So that worked out pretty good, and those "factory second" LRP were noted as "hard", but no failure rate if you hit them hard enough - via site description.

Now the description says less then 1%. I ordered a box last night.

I agree, 0.001% is virtually 0%. Seemed like an error.

Yea I saw that.  Not that now's a good time for me to be buying more stuff, but I almost bought some anyway (they aren't that heavy or bulky), at a 1/1000 (probably actual) failure rate.  The update to "Less than 1%" is less confidence inspiring.  That can mean 5 failures per 1000.  Not good enough for me.

Considering the price of large pistol primers, this seems like a really good deal for new brass.

Have you always thought to yourself, One day I'm gonna get me an anvil?  Do you have excessive road runners in your 'hood?  Need a way to fight back?  Well, it's time you did something about it.

Get a 66 lb anvil for ~ $51 delivered.  Dang thing is 21" long, it ain't no wimpy anvil.  The VVPRO code will get you a 5% discount and it's free shipping too.

Anvil

Maybe it's made in China, but how do you mess up an anvil?  Don't let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity escape you.
