Longshot worked better with 220gr. bullets than AA9 in my testing.

Hodgdon lists 10mm titegroup loads up to 200gr. bullets.  Xtreme Bullets lists a titegroup load with their 220gr. bullet.  I've worked that load up higher with an SNS 220gr. Hi-Tek coated cast bullet in my G40 to ~1000fps in an Alphawolf barrel.  Very quiet through a suppressor!

When I was comparing Winchester White Box .45 ACP (230gr) versus S&B 10mm (180gr),  I want to say they power factored the same….right around 196.

So the 10mm was traveling at about 1,088 fps.

The .45ACP was traveling at about 852fps.

I need to try a heavier recoil spring in my 10mm.  It slings brass into the next county.

I bought the largest tarp Home Depot sold:

And I still had to adjust where I stood to get the 10mm brass to stay on the tarp.

Good news for me… Attachment Attached File

I have plenty of Blue Dot, Long Shot, Power Pistol, and some Acurrate #whatever powder.

My one 650 is set up for .40 right now (and small primers) .  My other 650 is set up for .223 right  now (and also small primers).  Decisions….decisions….

That last one….a 241 power factor!  WOW!  (Power factor = bullet weight in grains X velocity in fps).  Then drop the 3 digits on the right.

There's not a whole lot you can do about the 10mm slinging brass, that's just what they do. I've shot a P220, 1911, and two different tanfoglio wineseees in 10mm, they all do that.

There's a lot of weak 10mm factory ammo out there as you found. You just have to know what you are buying. It's the same for 45 acp though. A lot of it is to the old 1911 standard of 230gr at 830 fps. But if you look it's not that hard to find different stuff. For 10mm the Federal 200gr HST load is pretty solid. The Underwood 220gr FN round is about as powerful as it gets. For 45 acp, the Hornady 230gr XTP +p is pretty strong. The Buffalo bore 255gr FN aint playing around at nearly 1000 fps.
