I'm picky and looking for a new EDC. The Bravo almost fits the bill. I strongly prefer Nichia Hi CRI lights...the tint and color is amazing. I saw on Elzetta's webpage you can disassemble the lights even underwater and they maintain waterproofness. At this point I'm sold if I can get a Nichia drop in.
I found a Malkoff which has a Nichia LED so thought I hit the jackpot. I reached out to Malkoff to see if these are waterproof like the Elzetta (Malkoff makes the Elzetta modules), and was told no Malkoff will survive underwater. I then cited the video on Elzetta's site and they told me it was misleading and inaccurate. They reiterated that Malkoff Devices' modules are NOT waterproof outside a light.
With that being said, how are Elzettas waterproof even underwater if the maker themselves claim it is not? Does Elzetta modify them with potting, etc? Is it possible to get a Nichia 219 module from Malkoff waterproofed to the same standard?
What gives?

So you want to buy an Elzetta light, but wish to modify it using ANOTHER company's drop in LED module who claims that THEIR module is not waterproof and also made the claim that Elzetta is misleading and inaccurate?
Ok, let's unpack this. Have you asked Malkoff to explain precisely how & why THEIR product is not waterproof? In other words explain EXACTLY what the chink is in THEIR armor is? I assume not because you never made that claim.
Have you asked Malkoff to back up their claim and explain precisely how & why they claim that Elzetta's product is "misleading and inaccurate"? I assume not because you never made that claim either.
Instead you are asking Elzetta to publicly explain the process of how they waterproof their product on the internet
? Wouldn't you think that might be proprietary information they may prefer to keep to themselves? You ask Elzetta to provide everyone with their secret formula? That's in a way like asking Aimpoint to explain on this forum how & why the Vortex StrikeFire has lower battery life and to explain how & why Aimpoint achieves longer battery life. Doesn't that sound like a ridiculously unreasonable request?
What gives? I bet ya bought the light though right?
