This thread is for you to post what you smoked in your pipe today.
Yesterday I smoked some Blue Note from Altadis. It was pretty good. I am just starting with pipes, so this was a good aromatic. |

As for simply red it has a sweetness to it and not hot burning, I got the Virginia sampler from Watch City. I would buy this again and will jar some to age. I have heard good things about the Watch City bulk blend VA and VAPERS so look forward to going through the five blends in the sampler. Well I have had two bowls of the new Carolina Red Flake in two different pipes. First in a Moretti Morta shape 55 with the fold and stuff method after sitting out for about three hours. Second in a Ashton Taylor Dublin fresh from the tin. Sorry to say I did not enjoy either bowl. I found it boring and bland, one dimensional with nothing to look forward to. I will take the rest of the tin, rub it out and add perique to give it some depth.

I like 515-RC better I feel it has some flavor. I rubbed out the Red Cake and added .5 oz of McClelland Perique and let it sit. I then tried a bowl and dumped it halfway. Very disappointed. No more C&D VA for me. Now to sell the tins I bought.
