So the internet is up in arms about this kid shooting an albino deer on a hunting trip. He as far as I can tell did so legally.
I don't see anything wrong with this, what says the hive? POLL INBOUND |

Righteous kill.
Culled bad genes from the population & got a cool story while doing it. |
|
I took a shot at an albino hog 20 years ago here in Florida. Missed it by an inch. I was pissed.

Good. Kill the freak.
ETA: I do mean the genetic freak of a deer. |

My local news put this on fb. The comments have been hilarious.

So wait... now the democrats want the white ones spared and the brown ones shot?

My buddy shot an albino doe a few years ago. There is a rumer of bad luck shooting an albino, that it will be your last deer you ever kill.

I haven't hunted in probably 10 years. I thought it was illegal to shoot an albino deer in MI.

|
We had a 10 point albino running around here a few years back.
99% sure some Amish guys poached it. |
|
Genetic abnormality that does not benefit the species, cull it.

He's 11. And from MI, too. I assure you, in MI, the only thing anybody really has to say about that kid taking an albino buck, is about how awesome it is. Nov. 15th is a state holiday, more or less. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Crossbow kill....Meh. He's 11. And from MI, too. I assure you, in MI, the only thing anybody really has to say about that kid taking an albino buck, is about how awesome it is. Nov. 15th is a state holiday, more or less. Sure I'm happy for the kid and I suspect he has not been taught any way but to use a crossbow. I'm old school and crossbows were only able to be used by handicapped folks unless it was gun season in my state. Now lots (if not most) folks use them since they became legal and it's cheapened archery season "bragging rights" in my eyes. We did not allow them on our leases during archery season. |

I am on the Internet and I don't care . I hope he enjoys his inbred deer.

I'm guessing he is since the article says- Gavin will have a large trophy to remind him of his hunting success. The family is having a taxidermist create a full-body mount of the deer. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Think that may be an old indian belief that albino animals were sacred. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

When I fucked up my arm a couple of years ago, I could go and get a medical waiver to use a crossbow during bow season. Of course, they were made legal for everyone shortly thereafter. I fucked up my left arm in such a manner that I can't use a bow right handed anymore. |

As much as I was into archery as a kid, I've never bow hunted and never fired a crossbow in my life.

There are a few in my area, as well as a few white and a few piebald that apparently are all related to the same line. I'm indifferent on shooting one. I think it's kinda cool they are around and wouldn't shoot it just so the genes are passed on.
I don't buy the "ZOMG they are going to die because they are white", as these deer have been around a while and seem successful enough. |

There is a "deer farm" by Grass lake Mi that has several of them. Anyone who wants to see one can pays your money and see them. I think he has 1/2 dozen of them or so. Called Calderone Deer museum. |

Glad the family is having a full mount done by a taxidermist.

Voted yes, then read story.
12 point, not even worth pondering. Good Kill. |
