I’m intrigued.
If this out Blackouts the Blackout, it could be pretty cool. |
Interesting...would definitely be popular in areas that only allow straight wall rifle cases for hunting.
Sort of want because reasons... |
Interested to see what comes of that and who makes parts for it. I might "need" one of these.
I love 35 cals. There's a huge variety of bullets from 110gr pistol bullets to .250 gr heavies. I expect 200gr would be about the limit with this new cartridge without taking up too much powder space. Although really heavy subsonics might work.
What are the chances that the only thing a standard AR needs to function with this cartridge is a barrel?
I would imagine the standard BCG will work since .223 is the parent case, but what about mags and buffers? |

Hmmm, interested in seeing what velocity you can get out of a 16" barrel with 200gr bullets.
That actually is pretty cool.
I want a contender barrel for it. Although I guess 357 max would make more sense for that. On any decently long barrel I would think most 9mm cans would handle subs just fine, too. |

Hrmmmm. I just got into .357 max this past year. I'm not sure my 16" barrel could get a 200gr bullet to 2000. If nothing else I hope .35s get popular and we get more velocity appropriate bullet options. I'm kind of in no mans land with 180s.

Straight wall case... so no trimming? If so I might be in.
Absolutely hate case trimming. |

Meh, I'm not understanding the point of this?
Why are y'all interested in it? I'm more utilitarian though, and it seems other cartridges would do a better job at killing, so? |
That’s cool.
If you want a different option than 300 blkout, it works. I think I’d just take a 30/30 for that kind of thing though. |

View Quote In that context, a straight wall .223 case is basically the biggest cartridge you're going to fit without sacrificing capacity or common parts. Hopefully, we're looking at something that has much better subsonic terminal ballistics than .300blk. This could be America's 9x39mm. |

My main interest is in a small bolt gun in this chambering. Zastava Mini Mauser, CZ 527 or Howa mini action.
Sounds interesting, however, the appeal with 300 BLK is using suppressors. Not a lot of suppressors for handling .35 Cal. Hybrid or whatever it is from Griffin...
Very exciting cartridge. Similar performance to a .357 magnum carbine, with 25% more weight.

Factory .35 Remington ammunition won't make 2,000 FPS out of a lever action barrel.
Interesting cartridge indeed. Maybe the most useful deer hunting cartridge yet for the AR. ETA: their math is wrong on the magazine cover. That or the writer is just lying because they've been paid off to promote a new cartridge. 1,776 ft lbs doesn't equal 2,046 ft lbs available from a .30-30 Winchester. |
I have one right now. Go over to variants and look at 357 AR max.

I would be interested to see what MDWS could do with a 35 caliber bullet in their new line of 6.8 case-based wildcats..
@MDWS. Oh and please hurry up with the 30 cal variant. |

That seems like an awfully small market, but looks like an interesting cartridge. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

So is Winchester going to make a branded AR or is this going to be FN?
