I just finished watching my marathong of EP1-6 and noticed that young Anakin was ghosted in with Yoda and OB1 at the end of EPVI. For some reason I missed it the last time I saw my marathon years ago. So the version that I thought I had is not the 77-82 original movie release...correct?

Get all the despecialized originals. They're amazing. Great work they did on perfecting the old films.

unbelievably stupid decision Lucas. should have just left the original old man Anakin. To me, the special edition ones are the films I wanted to make. Anybody that makes films knows the film is never finished. It’s abandoned or it’s ripped out of your hands, and it’s thrown into the marketplace, never finished ... This is the movie I wanted it to be, and I’m sorry you saw half a completed film and fell in love with it. But I want it to be the way I want it to be. I’m the one who has to take responsibility for it. I’m the one who has to have everybody throw rocks at me all the time, so at least if they’re going to throw rocks at me, they’re going to throw rocks at me for something I love rather than something I think is not very good, or at least something I think is not finished.

Part of being a good artist is letting go of your work at some point. Art is never finished but once it's released it's done.

The Lego Star Wars shorts actually poke some fun at Lucas' changes; Han shooting first, Hayden Christiansen substituted at the end of Episode 6, etc..

Quoted: So, why didn't Lucas shop in young Obi Wan as well? View Quote The official answer is that the ghost is the same age as when the deceased was last a Jedi...or something. Although technically, when Anakin died, he was no longer part of the Sith. The real answer is that George Lucas made lots of stupid changes to his movies...just because he could. |

No. Palpatine was just another politician. Darth Sidious was actually Princess Leia after 30 years of booze and partying. She kinda went all Lindsay Lohan and it caught up with her. |

View Quote Because he's an idiot. My theory is that when the originals were made people still told him when an idea sucked but when they made the newer ones everyone was all "OMG George you're a genius" at every half baked idea he spit out. If they were going to show Anakin at 20 something years old then all of them should have been that age in that scene for it to make any sense. |

Gee whiz OP.
That was done years ago. Just like when the 1st Star Wars Episode IV Had the Millennium Falcon come straight into Endor then pull an unbelievable 90 degree snap turn at the tree line. Or how about all the neww releases having all kinds of new 3D graphics so all the movies are all 3D. OP. You have really missed out. |

What Lucas did with his "remastered" versions was like da Vinci pulling out the Mona Lisa 20 years later and making her look like Marge Simpson.

View Quote http://www.slashfilm.com/george-lucas-speaks-altering-films-1988/ "In the 1980s, a controversy swirled in Hollywood when there was a notion to colorize black and white films. The issue made it all the way in front of Congress due in large part to the passionate backing of several important filmmakers. Eventually, their efforts helped to establish the National Film Registry which, to this day, takes historically significant films and preserves them in their natural state forever. On March 3, 1988, George Lucas was one of those filmmakers who spoke in front of Congress. The same George Lucas who, in the two decades since, has continually tinkered with his signature Star Wars films from the Special Editions through the prequels and right up to the Blu-rays, which caused massive mainstream controversy this week due to new changes including a digital Yoda and Darth Vader’s new dialogue. But on that day, 23 years ago, Lucas delivered a rousing speech that condemned exactly what he’d end up doing himself." |

Can we all agree that Episode 6 was when everything started going down hill?
Seriously who the fuck let George get away with fucking Ewoks bringing down the Empire? I think I read somewhere it was originally supposed to be Wookies, that would have made more sense and been much more badass. |

The originals, the 1997 special editions, the 2004 DVD editions and the 2011 Blu-ray editions. |
