Since November I'd been having problems with my bicep. Like, so much so, that I can barely close my tailgate with one arm. I finally decide to go to the doc and this is what's happened so far.
First visit, wasn't even with a doc, but they do some strength tests, ROM tests, and ask me if I want an X-ray
. I say no thanks as it is not a skeletal problem, but I'd like an MRI to show if there is tissue damage. I'm then told insurance won't cover an MRI unless I've done 4 weeks of physical therapy.
Next week I start going to physical therapy which doesn't do much besides help identify activities that cause pain and from one of the sessions I was in so much pain the next day I had to cancel an appointment. I called the doc back and they said, "if PT is causing pain we can bring you in sooner to meet with the doc and discuss having the MRI."
So, today, I'm going back to talk AGAIN about getting an MRI. The therapist said she's confident in a partial tear. So, if the MRI shows something and I have to have surgery what am I in for?
For what it's worth, I think this all happened when I helped move a 800lbs beer tank. I got stuck holding up one end alone while we re positioned people.
