the supreme court really should have a mandatory retirement age.

I can't imagine wanting so desperately to work until the day I die. Typical leftist |

She's overtly partisan; She's got no business being any sort of a judge.

At her age she could easily out last Trump's second term or fall down or catch a cold and die from the complications next week. Apparently she's a tough old bird, but even tough old birds meet their match eventually.
To me the real issue isn't her age or her health. It's her inability to do her job. Just because you chose government service doesn't mean you should be able to hang on well past the point of usefulness. The only reason she's still there is to prevent Trump from picking her replacement. So much for "doing the people's work". |

I do not wish any ill upon RBG. By all accounts she's a lovely person, albeit with really bad politics. I do however wish she would retire. View Quote Certainly do not agree with her views, but to wish death upon someone is pretty low. |

Looks like her head is just about to fall off due to old age and decay.

They will put her in an iron lung before they let her keel over before 11/2020

Would be really interesting if everyone is staring at RBG, and suddenly Breyer or Sotomayor drops or has a serious issue like a stroke or heart attack out of the blue.
THAT would be the day the left goes completely, totally, and irrevocably apeshit. |

I don’t want her to die.
I do want her to retire, right fucking now. At this point, she is basically punishing the country for HER own poor judgment in not retiring under Obama, because she wanted Hillary to appoint her successor. |
|
A lot of people are under the impression that the Garland nomination issue would stop Trump from nominating someone in an election year. Even though the situation doesn't fit. Obama was a lame duck, and the Senate was controlled by the opposition party. Neither will be the case next year.

I doubt she will match Breyer's years on SCOTUS, much less Stevens'.

How much time would "we" need before Nov 2020 to replace her if she croaks? |

RBG passing away with Republicans in control of the White House and Senate my very well be the catalyst that kicks off SHTF.

Why are the Marshals assisting her? Is that their job? View Quote The Marshal of the United States Supreme Court heads the United States Supreme Court Police, a security police service answerable to the court itself rather than to the president or attorney general. It handles security for the Supreme Court building and for the justices personally. To carry out these duties, 40 U.S.C. § 6121 authorizes the Marshal to police the Supreme Court building and protect the Justices, employees of the Court, and visitors to the Court. The Marshal also has authority to make arrests in carrying out these duties. |
