Politics notwithstanding, it is a shame that we are at such a point in this nation where merely supporting the sitting President is considered “offensive”
Slight tangent, but about 10 years ago I was traveling cross country and on the flight I was speaking to a guy from a foreign, but English speaking nation. He broached the topic of politics and had a few choice words about Obama. What he said was perhaps on its face nothing that I would have otherwise disagreed upon, but I told him that he was good company to be seated with but that I wouldn’t criticize his nation’s leader and I would appreciate it if he wouldn’t criticize mine. Had he been buddy back on the block; perhaps I would’ve said “Yep” and changed the topic anyways as I simply don’t like to discuss politics. But he wasn’t and I had to assert as much. No hard feelings. He remained pleasant company. |

That is where I went to high school. This area is very conservative, but ohhhhhhh the butthurt by some of our Democrats when that happened.

From the link. All North Carolina schools have a policy against displaying political signs. A statement from the Stanly County School district said, it part: "Stanly County Schools respects the rights of its students, staff, and visitors to express their opinions in a respectful manner on their own time, however, Stanly County Board of Education policy prohibits the display or distribution of political advertisements on campus or at school events. Further, Stanly County Schools never makes political campaign endorsements. These policies ensure that all students, staff and visitors are able to attend school events in an environment that promotes students and not a particular political viewpoint." The North Carolina High School Athletic Association said the probation was not a punishment, but a "notice of behavior or action that is against NCHSAA Handbook Policy or contrary to expectations of sportsmanship and proper behavior." They say if the behavior continues, fines or suspensions could be implemented. More manufactured outrage. |

These people really need to start pulling their kids. Unfortunately our country is full of fucking socialists who want public education for free. And no, your goddamn taxes don't cover the entire cost, everyone else's taxes do.
Socialism. How's that free education doing?!? |

So, I went to their website and told them they needed to fully reinstate the cheerleading team. I also asked what they would have done if it were an Obama sign, a rainbow flag, or a Bernie Sanders campaign sign. Within just a few minutes I received this message.

Similar situation happened here and the school just lost the suit School told girl/student to stop handing out valentines cards. She worked the channels at the school, they didn’t back down. She filed a 1st amendment suit. She asked for, and won, damages of $1. "There can be no doubt that in handing out her home-made Valentines to her fellow students, friends, and staff at NWTC, Olsen was engaged in a constitutionally protected form of expression. Olsen's conduct bears some resemblance to “handbilling” which has been defined as “the practice of offering written material—be it handbills, pamphlets, tracts, advertisements, booklets, notices or other information—to individuals in public places for their acceptance or rejection," reads Hon. Griesbach's ruling.
He continues, "As an initial matter, Olsen did not need a public forum in order to lawfully convey her messages. While Olsen’s conduct bears some similarity to handbilling, it was not handbilling in the traditional sense. Traditional handbilling refers to handing out the same written material to members of the public in general, such as a pamphlet, advertisement, booklet, or campaign material. Each of the Valentines Olsen handed out, however, had a different message directed not to the public in general but to the person to whom she gave the Valentine." View Quote View Quote |

They can design and implement politically motivated curriculum's in order to indoctrinate students to a socialist/communist ideology, have it taught by activists teachers, while forbidding students to support their own President.
The definition of a public education system it is not! |

I can't fault the school for the position they're taking regarding kids who are in uniform, representing that school. What offends me is that these 15 year old girls are now getting death threats. They're being called racist. It's obscene.

It's a school function so it was a dumb idea to bring in the banner and display it on the field.

Students, at a school sanctioned event, on a school owned property. School doesn't want political signs? NO PROBLEM. I don't have an issue with it. As long as the policy is enforced equally along all the lines.
