Quoted: One of the best series I’ve watched in a long time. Felt like a Stanley Cup Final. View Quote With the exception of Bos-Tor (big stretches of that series seemed like neither team wanted to win) every series in round one was awesome. Round two is shaping up to be great too… Panthers-Bruins Rangers-Hurricanes Dallas-Colorado Vancouver-Edmonton |

Appears to have had a few modifications. |

Quoted: Me either. Boston seemed to step up their play for game one and the break didn't seem to help the Panthers. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Not the outcome I expected Me either. Boston seemed to step up their play for game one and the break didn't seem to help the Panthers. It is the downside of Florida's defensive man on man, when you have a breakdown in coverage it means someone is wide open. Something else I noticed is on offense, they had a lot of 3high setups so when there is an open look up top they don't often have any traffic in front of the goalie. They also stack the boards in both zones, offense and defense, so if you win the battle you have no advantage other than a open shot and on defense, it leaves the backdoor/center wide open when you lose the battle. I didn't watch many Florida games during the regular season, so I don't know if it is an off-game or they need to make an adjustment. One thing is for certain, Swayman has started on a heater. I expect Florida to go after him a bit more next game and always have someone in front. |

Back and forth game with Rangers and Canes.
2nd period got a bit spicy and then things settled back down and went to double OT, 87min of hockey! Canes took multiple bad penalties that cost them the game. |

Let's Go Rangers! What a game.
Saved me the trouble of going out and buying a cat so I could kick it. |
|
This time zone difference and streaming thing is killing me.
Here's hoping the Finals last as long as possible and we can watch some live games when we're in CONUS next month. LET'S GO RANGERS!! |
|
Hoping for a strong bounce back game from Florida.
Figure out their D setup and get traffic in front of Swayman while throwing everything at him. Don't think it is too realistic to completely shutdown Boston's offense but they need to keep them from scoring more than twice. Edit- 15secs in Tkachuk went to the front of the net during a shot from the point and caused a ruckus to try and shake Swayman. Florida on the PP. |
|
Florida up 3-1 going into the 3rd.
Damn, Boston has been good and dominated the 1st but only managed one goal. Florida dominated the 2nd but Boston PK has been phenomenal, 96.4% or 27/28 so far in the playoffs. Florida PP is 0/7 against Boston, so far, this series and 0/18 in all their matchups this year. |
|
Bruins getting worked. I'll have to do some trash talking tomorrow to a certain colleague of mine.
|
|
Florida scored 90secs into the 3rd, 4-1 Florida.
Swayman pulled... Wow, I don't think 3 of those goals are his fault. |
|
Last 9 minutes are gonna take 25 minutes. old time hockey baby.
|
|
Haha... 6-1 Florida SHG!!! Marchand being a bitch.
Run it up and score 4 more! Edit- Pasta and Tkachuk fighting! Wasn't expecting that. Pasta got rocked. I guess that is what they were talking about during the penalty explanation. |
|
Only going to be 3-4guys on the bench after all the shenanigans.

Dang, almost 150 hits combined in this game.
Well, Game 3 will certainly be interesting on Friday. I'm gonna have to get some beer for that one. |
|
Great game! According to Leah, the B's intentionally went out to start something.

Well the 2nd round wasn't going anything like was it supposed to... until last night.
Watching Florida wreck boston on the scoreboard and on the ice was great. I hope they roll into boston and start a charlestown chiefs type brawl right off the opening face off. Punch Boston in the mouth before they can get started. Admittedly I didn't stay up to watch the 3rd period of the canucks game. Pleasant surprise this morning to see how that unfolded. Now if the Canes and Stars can get with the fucking program tonight, things will start to align .. |

Canes are shaking it up. Anderson is out, Kochetkov is in tonight..
Feel bad for Anderson as he isn't the problem. The Canes special teams is. 0-10 on the PP and their PK hasn't been able to stop the Rangers. That said, they had to shake things up and Anderson got the axe. |

View Quote Yeah, Anderson has played good enough. He’s not great but he’s not bad either. His numbers aren’t great in the playoffs but he’s made some incredible saves and a bunch of the goals he allowed came off absolutely busted defense by his teammates. That said, he should’ve never been getting thrown in the net every game. They should’ve been rotating with Kooch the entire time. Anderson has never been an every game goalie. I’m not sure he even played 2-3 straight games during the season. Not sure what RBA was thinking, other than the Canes are all in to win the Cup this year and he didn’t want to risk the young kid not being ready for the playoff atmosphere. Anderson has a lot of playoff experience. Hopefully they win game 3/4 at home to even the series. Game 2 was a back breaker. I still think overall they are better than NY. They have outplayed NY 5v5 and I don’t think NY can hang with them full strength, especially down the lines. The issue is their power play has been abysmal. They’ve also shot themselves in the foot and turned half their PP opportunities into 4v4. Hopefully Kooch is ready for the bright lights. He’s the future anyway, guess it’s time to toss him to the wolves. |

In other NHL news , Leafs fired Keefe today , they got 40% of their salary tied up in the "core four" that disappear every playoff, Shanahan has to go too , Keefe aint a bad coach , he'll win a cup with another team before the Leafs ever do .

Damn, Trochek is being one irritating SOB tonight.
Wonder if there is some underlying animosity still there…. Quoted: Canes / Rangers getting spicy View Quote I don’t know what “this” is, but it’s not “‘Canes hockey”. NYR is making CAR look silly. |
