View Quote Micarta is great because you get so much variation from one material and it is really tough. Want a rough worn look? sand it. use it. It picks up oils and other stuff and darkens, takes on character. Want to start over? wash it. want a polished look? Wax and polish. very versatile and so many patterns and looks. With that being said, one might not be enough. You might need to try a number of different ones. I started with micarta on my BRKs and never appreciated it because it was all smooth and polished. In retrospect I should have roughed them up with sand paper to open them up. Probably would have liked them even more. More warmth and character. |
