Ooh! So us Glock converts can go back to carelessly jamming our Glocks back into our holsters? Sweet!

With that thing installed (and a suppressor) how could you hold the slide closed with your thumb for extra quiet shots?

There is an instructor on here that uses it. I can understand that. He literally does 10K draws and reholsters with a loaded G19 AIWB per year.
I would never use one on a carry gun. |

Takes all kinds of kinds.
I'm considering getting one for a dedicated practice/training pistol. My MTAC has a habit of deforming just enough that I have to cant the muzzle inward to holster. That's not a problem in everyday life, but it becomes one when you're constantly reholstering. Even though I know the trigger is clear, anytime I point a weapon at myself I get a little anxious. This just gives an additional level of safety like riding the hammer on a HK or SIG. |

You can always tell who comments without reading the article or watching the video.

It seems unnecessary and I'm not a big fan of opening up the striker area to sand, lint, etc.

Can you imagine a scenario where a trigger is pulled without a finger touching it? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Why would you draw 10k and not fire the weapon with live ammo? Either snap caps or a dry fire magazine are a better solution. View Quote 2. He often shoots as well; that was implied. However the shooting portion is completely irrelevant to the purpose or use of the gadget so I left that explicitly out. |

If this safety fails, explain how it effects the function of the pistol. View Quote ETA: I can see very limited application for this doohickey. A training environment makes some sense. I don't think it's a great idea for general usage. |

So using the word "safety" I think is what is causing people to divide by zero about this. They think 'click on' then 'click off' and Glocks have historically not really had then in a general sense (Other than some specific foreign mil orgs). So adding one, especially one not made by Glock kirks them out (Rightfully so I suppose).
Reading through the article though this is just a temp striker disable device. Only disables while you push on it, it is out of the way otherwise. It looks like it "fails open" too meaning even if it broke the Glock would fire just fine. So it is not a safety in the sense on how safeties are defined for firearms or at least what I think of when someone says that. Based on how it work it would appear no one would need to train on a new draw stroke at all. Just a minor change when re-holstering. So even a CCW/"carry gun" would be fine since it will fire when drawn WITHOUT needing to engage this. |

There is so much Dunning-Kruger in this thread. The Gadget is a great idea. It has been tested for a long time. There is no down side.
