After watching American Graffiti, watch Fandango. It just kind of goes together. Similar feel.

I show this to my film students a few weeks before graduation.
100% approval rating over 10 years of the course. They love it. |

Little known fact... Wolfman Jack was given a percentage of the proceeds of that movie in perpetuity . Spielberg did that to convince him to be in the movie. He was the only "name" actually starring in the movie, although everyone else went on to be famous.
It supplied him with an income his entire life. |

Saw this fun fact: In the movie The Godfather, George Lucas put together the “Mattress Sequence” (this montage of crime scene snaps and headlines) as a thank you to Francis Ford Coppola for helping him fund American Graffiti.

Two Lane Blacktop was WAY better, more racing less talking.

One of those few movies where you can KNOW, without fail, that someone is either mentally defunct or not an American if they didn’t like it.

The Hollywood Knights is one of those movies that I thought was good when I was younger but realized just how bad it was when I watched it again as an adult. Bad, cheesy acting. American Graffiti is a classic that stands the test of time. View Quote |
