What Anakin Skywalker wanted was to be a great Jedi and to have a life with his wife and family.
Instead, he gets suckered by the Emperor and used by the Dark Side of the Force; murders a bunch of children, gets his ass thrown into volcano so he lives in constant terrible pain, gets his wife killed, and his own son ends up chopping his hand off. Loser. Looooser. |
|
Life seemed pretty decent under the empire. The Jedi were the radical, puritanical buzzkillers.

Not anywhere near as bad as the Disney Emo faggot we are now stuck with.
Also, Mace Windu went out like a bitch. Lucas should be thankful that Disney is making shittier movies than he did. |
|
Dude got his dick burned off in a fight he knew he couldn't win.
of course he is a loser. |

The top ten things YOU didn't know about Darth Vader's suit! |
|
Yet, he subjugated much of the known galaxy and was greatly feared and hated....... pretty good for a loser
|
|
Fuck the Rebels and the Republic. They would’ve disarmed the galaxy if they had the chance.
The Empire seemed to leave you alone for the most part and let you carry around blasters. I like Vader. But it seemed like he was always going to be below someone else. |

Anakin/Vader was also a slave his entire life. Slave as a boy, slave to the Jedi's institutional dictates, slave to the Sith's dictates, and finally a slave to his love for Padme. It was only when he chose Luke over Palpy that he was finally able to break his virtual chains.
And le'ts not forget, he was also manipulated by everyone he ever trusted. Qui Gon talked him into that pod race, Obi-Wan and the Jedi had him spy against Palpy, Paly pushed him into betraying the Republic to save a woman he wasn't even supposed to be involved with in the first place according to the Jedi, and finally by Palpy into trying to turn his own son to the Sith and replace Vader. And finally he was in a bad spot. He wanted to be a Jedi to save those he loved, but couldn't be with those he loved because he was a Jedi. He was too late to save his mother, his lust for power to save Padme ended up killing her, and he had to destroy the Jedi order from within in a futile attempt to try to save Padme. Anakin was a Greek Tragedy. |

Vader killed talented motherfuckers like it was cool.
Gotta give the cyborg respect |

Yeah, but the dude can play a mean bass guitar...

He wiped out almost all the Jedi. He was the number two man in a galactic empire. What did the Jedi do for him? They made him fight a war with a bunch of clones that would have turned on him, and never gave him a vote at the jedi council table.
So he went dark side and the trade off was his lungs and dick no longer worked and he lost his limbs. Seems like a good trade. His woman would have messed him up even worse and left him in debt with child support payments and the Jedi weren't paid money. |

Vader's hand that Luke chopped off was mechanical.
Just sayin'. |

Anakin was the central character of the first 6 episodes. It might not be too far off to call it a tradgedy. — it’s the tale of the discovery, loss and eventual redemption of a hero undone by love and the machinations of his seniors. Maybe more Shakepearian than Greek.

Vader was a badass until the prequels made him a doofus... just like how Han, Luke and Leia were badasses until the postquels made them doofuses.
Thankfully all the new characters are doofuses right out of the gate, so the post-postquels can only increase their standings. |
|
All that prequel shit did was ruin Vader, he was much better as a mysterious villain. We didn't need to see his sensitive side, his back story, tough up bringing, etc.

View Quote The reason I picked Greek Tragedy instead of a Shakespearian one is that Anakin does all the wrong things for the right reasons and ends up bringing about the very thing he was trying to avoid (Padme's death). He made the Deal with the Devil and got burned. |

Darth vader was a sad story of someone driven mad.
If they'd of left anakin alone in the first place none of it would have happened. He was to old to start jedi training but obiwans obsession broke that rule. Aside from that, his handlers and the "jedi way" (ala catholic priest; no womenz) drove the kid to the dark side. What he did afterwards was his fault, but essentially he was driven that direction. |

Maybe if Luke had taken his dad up on the offer to chop Sidious' head off and rule the galaxy as father & son, he and basically everyone he ever knew wouldn't have died in the last SW movie.

Clone Wars is worth watching.
The Jedi are a bunch of faggots. They earned their fate. |

If you are concerned that a particularly gifted child is too old for training, specifically because of the dangers strong emotional attachments can present, don't you think that it might be a good idea to save the kids mother from FUCKING SLAVERY???

It still boggles the mind how Lucas and Co. thought those prequels were adequately explaining the origin story of one of the most sinister, feared and revered cultural icons. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
