I am watching Battle: Los Angeles. A squad of hard chargers with current military capability taking on an Alien Invasion. A better, and more realistic movie on squad tactics and overall realism in a sci-fi movie, I would say is hard to find.
That is all, carry on. Semper Fi. |

It's a shameless, filthy USMC propaganda film.. and I love it.

It’s the “Staff Sergeant” drinking game movie.
When said do a shot. |

The Coast Guard even gets in on the action. Dying a horrible death. They could of at least had them blast one with the CIWS or the 76mm before they were sunk. Feels bad.

I do like the movie. I know most people don't. But I also like Battleship and Battlefield Earth too.

Sure.
Yup, even better than Aliens. Although as someone above pointed out - where were the floor buffers?? And did they miss a chance for product placement for Bang, 4-Loco, etc…? |

Great movie.
Look for the almost textbook transition to his Beretta when he's out of .556 at the end of the fight. "We already had breakfast, Sir." |
|
Just please tell me why they needed to fly over the ocean and THRU the fighting when they could’ve come up a little more inland and got in the fight that way
That opening scene put me off. Otherwise I’d fuck it err I mean to it? |

When I tried to record it last night the wife's shows had that DVR time slot taken up recording with bullshit home shows so I deleted of them. We will see if it mattered.

i like that movie quite a bit
just a fun sci fi with lots of alien smack down, gun play, explosions, etc. of course it has a bunch of the USMC / war movie cliches but that's okay -- they're not too badly overdone. the grizzled vet 'past his prime' w/ a history. vet looking to retire but has 'one last mission'. the newby 2LT looking to prove he can hack it. the damsel in distress. the city kid who can hotwire a car. the suicide mission that everyone volunteers for. not enough crayon eating though. but again -- its well done and has some pretty good scenes. i give it a thumbs up. |

I liked it, just watched it with my kids and they loved it.
Sure better than most of the crap coming out now. |

I liked it as well and will sit down and watch it if I see it’s on. Not the best but entertaining.

According to the director, the aliens were basically the galactic equivalent of somali pirates which is why they got their asses kicked by humans .

This and Battleship are the 2 epic war movies of my generation

I really liked it. It's one of those movies where you need to just switch off your brain and just sit there and enjoy some awesome USMC action kicking alien ass. It's not trying to be some fru-fru Academy winning film. It's just good, awesome, bang-bang fun.
And I LOVE movies like that. They're meant to entertain, period. |

Terribly awesome movie, just like Battleship. Love them both.

Just an awesome movie. Oh....and FPNI... Semper Fi..... Carry on. |

I came away from it pretty meh. Some cool action, but nothing particularly memorable. Only watched it once, and haven't had any strong urge to watch again. Anyone comparing it to Aliens needs to put soap in their mouth.

I watched that on a whim one day when there was nothing else to watch. Loved it. There isn't an ounce of fat on it.
No, it's not "Battleship Potemkin," or "Citizen Kane," or "Rashamon," or "The 400 Blows." But, it is fun. |
