Perhaps it will actually be released this year.
But I doubt it. Wonder who the bad guys are supposed to be? Think they will leave it vague like in the first one? |
|
Cruise is nuttier than a squirrel turd but I'll be in an IMAX seat for this one.

I was really stoked about this movie. Now? Not so much. Why?
I was stoked about Duke Nuke Forever when it was announced back in 1997/1998. Look how that turned out. I feel this is going the same direction. |

It was originally supposed to be released on my birthday....the delayed release really fucked up my wife's birthday plans for me. |

Looks good, a lot more insight on the plot now. I'll watch it.

There's only a couple movies I feel like watching in a theater coming out this year.
This one and the new Nick Cage movie. |
|
It looks really good, and I'm sure I'm going to love it, but it's been delayed so much I'm getting to the point that I just don't give a fuck anymore
|

I can tell already that it will not even come close to the original. I will still probably watch it but my expectations are low. you can see the wokeness even in the trailers

Duke Nukem was stuck in developmental hell for a very looooong time, Maverick has been in the can for almost 2 fucking years now |

Cool. Jennifer Connolly still looked so good three years ago.

I wonder if it's "bowing to China" or just trying to be "marketable in China?" In other words, US movies are big business, so I take it as they are just trying to expand over-seas views.
It looks interesting enough that I'll probably rent it from Redbox in 2023. |

Had to go straight to the 57. I suppose J-20s weren't a politically viable choice. Must be a rather amusing timeline for that fictional universe if we have Superhornets merging with Su-57s without Kremlin Joe letting fly with the nukes. |

Some of those scenes look straight out of that Owen Wilson movie.

Quoted: I'm just hoping that chick isn't a Mary Sue. I don't have a problem with women pilots, they exist, I just hope they don't make her a Mary Sue. View Quote One of the many things I really liked about the movie Hot Shots. There's a female pilot in that squadron but she's not a love interest or a Mary Sue. She's just one competent pilot among several. On a mission that was being intentionally sabotaged. |

I just don't see how it can in any case. Being an 80s kid, though, I love Top Gun and I will see this in the movie vice my normal waiting for the blu ray. |

If she got her wings 3 months prior I'd say yes, but it's safe to assume that she went through hell to get there and earned her seat |

Hell yes, I am looking forward to this one.
Just hope it comes out before the world discovers it is completely implausible that the Ruskies would have a functioning air force. |

My first thought was "where are the F35's and Raptors during this supposed conflict?" I wonder if the movie will address that or just ignore the fact that those planes exist in favor of highly unrealistic close-range dogfighting. Admittedly, modern air to air combat would make for an incredibly boring movie. |

Not gay enough.
And a serious lack of black/trans representation. |

Quoted: Low effort response. You can't live without a computer. You can live without seeing a movie. View Quote Of course it’s low effort, always take the low hanging fruit first. We can all hate China, but not one of us can get through the day without using Chinese products. Rather than boycott one single little thing like a movie, why don’t you start a revolution and throw out every single thing you own with parts made in China? Or, you can pick one thing, one silly little hill and die on it for your beliefs, while using countless other items made in China. Kinda screams hypocrite don’t you think? People that do this are silly. Stop being silly. |
