Daughter just caught a bunch of these on a pumpkin.

What are they? Central Ohio.

In before the bugs from Heat.

I think those are the bugs that may carry Chagas disease.  Not sure, though.

ETA: Do they look like these? https://kissingbug.tamu.edu/

There is also a stink bug that looks similar, but has a fatter, less elongated body.

Looks kind of like what I have heard called squash bugs. I didn't know they would eat pumpkins: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=squash+bugs+on+pumpkins&ia=web.

Stink bugs are a type of shield bug, are they not?

I've seen plenty of brown marmorated stink bugs.

Eat them. They'd probably taste better than any actual food that's made in Ohio.

Not Stink Bugs. Have them here too, central Ill. Just the last couple of years. This year is definitely a bit thicker.

I'm pretty sure these are boxer eld bugs. Look at their face up close and see if it looks like this.

Stink bugs.

Their “bite” which is actually not a bite, will literally burn the shit out of your skin. Not fun!!
