Lose the skoal
Looks like a nice place to get away, how many acres do you have? |
Yea I know, 16.5 |
you owe me a brew |
I've slept in worse.
Looks pretty comfy actually. Does it get cold/hot? you got any plans for that? |
It looks like POOP. Literally. Actually, it's a good color - blends |
Once you finish it up a little inside it will be pretty nice. Some insulation might go a long way in keeping the temp reasonable in there.
I was wondering where the windows were.
15 months? Damn dude! Very cool start. Oh and, to be "brutally honest", the color is, ummm, a good basecoat for a camo paint job? What, are you using it for a blind? |
Doesent get as cold as OK but it can get wet and cold, Ive slept in worse for sure also! |
You guys are heartless |
I like it. You did good. The porch is a nice addition. Got a banjo?
The color is perfect--with the possible exception of the dark color making it hotter in the summer, but only if you lack electricity for A/C. Overall you have my compliments--well done and well thought-out. |
Yes the wife is bugging me for one, hell its taken me this long for what you have!!! |
15-months, did you take one board out every month? Looks like a good place to get away too. Insulation would be nice. What about do you have in the project. Also nice truck, love those Titans.
open the door the other way (out) will give you some more room!!!
might make the screen door a little tricky though. |
One board a month, thats good Im glad I started awhile back, after Rita boards aren't cheap down here |
it's certainly.....uh....quaint.
Seriously though, it's a lot nicer than my cabin |
I've been working 4 1/2+ years on ours. |
can you elaborate on the type of foundation you're using? Color-wise, it is fine with me. Insulate the inside for a more even temperature range.
It sure looks like solid concrete blocks sitting on the ground. |
Yeah but there should be something below the blocks. Should go down a bit into the ground. |
Agreed--but that's what it LOOKS LIKE in the pic. |
Ya got a permit for that thang, boy j/k
Nice project, something like that is on my list of things to do |
perfect. do you have a wood stove or anything in the other corner? or just more bunks?
Other corner??? He too that pic from outside the window |
No real problem with the color, but then , I've been told I'm colorblind. Seriously ... do you REALLY need that middle column on the porch? ???Better "view" and no walking into it in the dark ??? Just 2 more cents from the peanut gallery. What counts is your using it ... that's great. Stay safe
There's solutions for this. |
Still have pictures of yours on my fridge. |
I can sell you some wall to wall carpet if you dont mind that is says "WELCOME" on it.
Nice place, really, especially since you built it with your own hands. |
That is just harsh. |
Needs some tan to break it up. Say its for thermal reasons, to keep it from getting too hot in the summer.
Ah--I'm flattered. You wouldn't recognize it now--especially after the stain was applied this past summer. The color adds a great deal to the appearance. I keep plugging away. I have a certain picture of yours in my hallway too. Speaking of that, I wore a certain sweatshirt home to mom's (Wis.) for Christmas. |
Wow--very, very nice. |
When are you going to be finished writing the manifesto?
Just kidding. I am envious. I'd love a small, manageable place in the woods. |
That's awesome, how about some pics on the inside? |
+1 |
Better than mine, I don't have one. |
Striker II can? |
Hey, don't let the armchair qb's get you down. Most of these guys would give a nut for your little piece of heaven and assorted cool toys.
The only thing I think you're missing is a little pond full of big old black bass, and blue cats. enjoy PS I think the color is fine. |
