My SO fixed some clam chowder tonight and it is really good.
She took some clam chowder, Penera brand, it comes in a plastic tub that's refrigerated when you buy it.
I think you could substitute a quality canned clam chowder, and she adds an extra can of clams and some butter, some garlic, chives, oregano, pepper and it's good --I think I'll ask if I can have hers.. .
Maybe the ingredients' have a good shelf life for storage and to break the monotony of rice and beans.
ETA, she says she already bought some canned C-C and it's in the storage area now.
