Nice work. My Tikka is just the CTR in 6.5C
I have a 40MOA base, that gets rid of hold over for the most part. |

It is extremely gratifying isn't it OP to hit way out there? I shoot a 300rum, and have been out to 2000 yards with it..which was far easier then I expected due to the power of the cartridge and a lucky almost no wind day...still funner then shit though...

An AI is what you seek. Amazing they are.My son shoots for them. I had Never even dry fired his competition rifle and scored a 1000 yard impact on my first shot. Of course he doped the shot and called the wind but damn. I'm staring 70 right in the eye and for me it was a great feat. The equipment and his coaching made the shot for me.

It's all about ballistic coefficient -- and, here, the 6.5 rules the roost.

Since you have 72 extra MOA in that scope, I would get a 20 MOA rail and a 20 MOA Unimount. Your scope has the mechanics for it.

Amazing! I would love to have a chance to shoot at a mile.

These guns still amaze me with out the box accuracy. Im about to load up a bunch of 123SMK, and take them out to distance. Only thing missing from the factory is a little speed. Still no complaints on my end. LOVE them... |

One of my students used an RPR in 6.5CM and a Vortex Viper PST Gen2 5-25x to shoot a man size target at 1 mile. It took almost no effort to get him there.

Congratulations.
For the mile shot with the factory 6.5 147 ELD you need ~95 moa/37.3 Mil elevation from a 100 yard zero. The NF scope lacks the internal elevation adjustment. A cant base and or a cant scope mount will be needed. FWIW the 147 ELD will go transonic at ~1500 yards (rainbow trajectory) A few weeks ago we were out on the desert, target was ~36 x 36 square at 2000 yards. We were shooting 338 Lapua Maghum, one Savage, one Ruger. I am using the Ruger with a built in 20 moa base, NXS scope 300 Gr SMK. Ran out of elevation by ~ 5 MOA. I was ok at a mile. After 11 shots I was able to connect. We had a similar target at 2500. After 5 "where did it go?" I gave up We also brought a couple of 6.5 CM. Up to 1500 yards were were doing ok, beyond that distance spotting the shot becomes a challenge. (Pentax 60 X 85mm) Reloading for ELR is fun A cool ballistic calculator: 4 Degrees of Freedom DOF software |

I have the same rifle but in .260
They make a 20 moa rail for it, that and 20 moa mount like a spuhr or ARC rings and you can dial to a mile without the holdover |
