Attached File Top picture is 31.0 grs of CFE223 behind 123gr ELDM and Fed gold medal match AR. The second was Hornady 123 gr black box. Out of my 18” gas piston Loki that usually never groups to well. I pulled the first shot, I did it several times this morning. I guess I just was out of practice. |

All right I’m almost in..lol
Been looking at this thread on and off for a while. I’m bored with 556 and want something bigger I can hunt with. So looking at a 16” rifle or 12’ish pistol Leaning on the 16” So who’s got a good deal and has no oddball threads..just a 5/8” not a match barrelmper say but a good shooter with steel and brass |

Who makes the lightest 16" barrel? Looking at the faxon gunner (1.53 lbs) barrel but didnt know if there was a lighter weight option (looking to keep it at 300 or under). Putting an antelope rifle together for my wife.

does a 16" ops inc profile Grendel barrel exist? Have the urge to build a recce style. I know BA makes the 18" spr barrel but haven't seen any 16" options

So whats the current go to factory precision ammo? Is it still the Hornady 123 SSTs or are there other comparable (better?) options?

Was doing some offhand shooting for fun. Went to reload a mag and it was rattling, shook it upside down and part of the forward anti cants fell out. Very disappointing, mag can’t have more than 100 or so rounds though it, think I only used it to zero(?)

Got my Form 1 back last week. Got the lower together last night, went shooting at the indoor range that has my Rugged Micro 30 suppressor.
12" PSA upper, adjustable gas block, Vortex PST Gen 2 2-10x. Lower has a PSA parts kit other than the Geissele SD-E trigger and Super 42 buffer spring. ACS-L stock. I barely adjusted the PSA gas block, all I wanted was reliable function today. I got less gas in the face than I do my 5.56 rifles with Surefire SOCOM suppressors and Bootleg adjustable BCGs. I'm really impressed with the Rugged Micro 30. Wasn't as sharp of a sound as 5.56, and not nearly the recoil of 308 ARs I shoot. Only shot at 25y, next Thursday I'm hoping to go to the outdoor range and play between 300-600 yards. This rifle has the serious potential to be my favorite. I really like my 18" Grendel but it's a beast (UBR stock, DD 12" rail, PST Gen2 3-15x, Rugged Surge in jail). This has a heavier optic but nowhere near that rifle. I'm really happy with this one. |
