I bought a Magnetospeed v3 off GB. Turns out the base that contacts the bottom of the barrel is melted somewhat. The bayonet does not line up directly in line with the bore. Its slightly off. When I try to move it, it slides back where it wants to.
I was able to get readings from my SR25 and DT SRS A2 with suppressors on both. I will be returning it for a refund. My question is are the readings I got accurate? Or should I purchase a new v3 and chrono them again? |

If it read the rounds then they are most likely good numbers.
Did you get a deal on it off GB? |

I only asked as you can get a mount system so the bayonet doesn't even touch the barrel/can and the melted area wouldn't matter. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/19859/IMG_2393__2_-2421359.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Originally Posted By Rob01: Originally Posted By rakkasan1187: $295. I cobbled together something similar and it's much, much more crude. |

The cat just looked up from his paper and notified me we should buy a Wiser Precision setup. My magnetospeed is awesome but the mounting clamp is annoying, and I don't want to drop the $ on a labradar. |

Didn't know if it could give inaccurate readings or if it's a matter of it either gets them or it doesnt. If the spacing or sensitivity is wrong I have gotten nonsense velocity readings, but only very rarely. And the numbers are so obviously wrong I know something needs fixing. |

Only thing I thought was off was my 26" 300nm was reading 230gr norma ammo at 2732-2766 fps. Sounded low. 215gr berger hybrids were 3000ish. Both 6 shot strings.

View Quote It won't give low numbers like that in a good group. That is probably the ammo as it's not really overly slow for a 230 in factory ammo. |

View Quote My buddy got one from MPA last year, might glance at theirs too..It's nice getting the weight off the end of the barrel seems it makes the magneto speed a lot better deal.... |

If anyone wants I have a near mint one I’m selling. I don’t use it enough to justify keeping it.
