I just bought a contract FN overrun 10" 300BK barrel and the gas port measures .063.... that seems very, very small to me.
Especially , in a 300BK, PLGS.
I will be using supers about 90% of the time, no suppressor at this time.... but I would like it to function with both supers and subs.
Did I buy a barrel meant for 100% suppressed use ? .... or, what would such a small gas port be intended to be used for ?
Also... the PA description says ....
Quote....
"The barrel is designed to be extremely durable and reliable with a high-strength cold hammer forged stainless steel construction and a black manganese phosphate finish. This barrel is chambered in .300 Blackout with a 1:8 twist rate and 5/8x24 threaded barrel for optimal performance and functionality. It boasts a chrome lined chamber and bore to extend the barrel’s service life and ensure reliable chambering and extraction"
CHF Stainless Steel barrel with a manganese phosphate finish and a chrome lined chamber and bore on the SS ?
Is all that a common thing ? CL on a SS bore and chamber ?.... or is that maybe a typo mistake.
It is mentioned 3 times on the webpage.
