And I figured I'd tell some of the members how I did it...

This isn't an ad, mods. I got a good deal and I'm just trying to help folks out. If this is the wrong forum, sorry.

Windows live and eBay are doing a promo right now where you can get 25% off any buy-it-now item. This includes optics. Most of the time I wouldn't touch eBay optics with a 10-foot pole, but the micro hasn't been copied yet by the chinese, so...

In addition, some of you guys may have eBay accounts set up already, and you may have gotten a coupon in your e-mail that gives you 10% any purchase. These two offers stack, as I just found out.

So anyway, if you go to "live.com" and type in something like "ipod", click the eBay link that has a "cashback" icon next to it. Once you're on eBay, look for "Aimpoint H-1" or whatever it is you want to find. Click a buy-it-now auction that you're interested in, and then click "purchase". Before you finalize it, there will be an option that says whether or not the auction qualifies for 25% off. Obviously, if it doesn't qualify find another item that does.

Some sellers are selling micro H-1's for around $470. Find one of those that qualifies for cash back, then buy it. During the process of paying, you can also enter that 10% off code you *may* have got in your e-mail. This docks the price to ~$430, then you get 25% off that later.

After paying ~$430, you get a message from the microsoft or something that tells you what to do next. You have to sign up for a windows live account or something (painless) and in 60 days they send you the extra 25% off that price (to your paypal account). No shit... Now I'm just waiting for the money.

My brother told me how to do this, and he wrote out a little guide for me to do it. If anyone wants me to e-mail it to them, IM me.

Take this info however you want... I, for one, am pretty stoked...

EDIT: Here's a link to some $470 aimpoints. The seller is NOT me, btw. Mods feel free to contact me for proof...

Thanks for the heads up--I used this program to buy an ACOG.

Be sure to read the disclosures and fine print, too.

Apparently you can use this three times on Ebay per account!

My pleasure.

Btw, I just got a new Accupoint for $359 (adjusted) and a new TA33 for $484. This is something that people really need to get on!

ETA: This offer varies its discount rate throughout the day. Sometimes it gets as low as 10%. The highest is 25%, so check on it regulary!

I also bought a Ta33--but the sseller does not know how the program works.  They have to report the sale to windows live.  Anyone else have this problem?

The seller does not report the sale, EBay / Paypal reports the sale.

Mine has already been reported and now I wait for the moolah.

As bad as EBay and PP are, I have no problem taking advantage of an offer like this.

How long before they reported the sale?  I purchased mine on the 25th and nothing has shown up so far.  The windows live FAQ's state that the seller reports the sale.  But, I can understand that ebay/pp could report the sale as well.

Are you guys finding your stuff through ebay or windows live?

Do a search on live.com, click through on the Paypal 25% off link.  When completing buy it now, it should show you the live cash back %.  If not you need to start over going through the link off of live.com

It took my brother a week for his money to show as "pending". For me I had one item show up instantly, and another took until this morning. One still hasn't shown up, but I'm not concerned.

I did do that, and was shown my cash back before I confirmed the "buy it now", and then paid through PP.

I'll just have to give a few more business days to confirm that amount posts in my account.

Really not much difference if you are already using PP or Ebay or have in the past.

MY MONEY IS PENDING!!  ONLY 59 DAYS TO GO!!

I had acessed my account through the FAQ's originally, but had to do another link from an email they sent.

The discount has consistently been 20% through ebay today.

I saw the 20% when I was looking at an ACOG. I don't have the additional 10% coupon from ebay, I guess I never got one. Thanks for the heads up about the terms and condition, let me see what I can find to buy.

I strongly suspect that the promotion just ended, as I couldn't find any eBay BuyItNow auctions that would give a Cashback value, and while it showed the eBay link a couple of minutes ago, now it doesn't come up whenever I type in a search.

Where is this option?
I am trying to pick up an Eotech 512 and when I click "Buy it Now" it only goes to a "Commit to buy page" where I agree to buy the item. There are no options I can see. Even on the $430 Micros I see no options.
I even got onto Ebay through the Live.com cashback link.

Is the promotion over?

It is at the very top of the eBay page.  Kinda small.  Sometimes I have had to search a couple of times to get it to show.

For example, I search through live.com for "trijicon accupoint".  At the top of the search page it had a link for Trijicon items on eBay with the icon for the cashback.  Cliked on that and it took me to a webpage on eBay with Trijicon items.  At the top it listed a 20% cashback deal.

I hope that helps.  I did not purchase anything, yet, so I cannot tell you if it is over or not, but I do not think that it is.

Well... I made my purchase and got 20% cashback + 10% discount!
I didn't buy an optic though...

I bought a 9"x19" ShopFox Lathe for $1065... and It's costing me $774.80 shipped!
Comes with all the tooling I'd need too. Now all I need is some various bits...

So basically, I only have to make 2 silencers with it and it's paid for itself.
I'm going to make a K-Baffle 5.56 Suppressor and a 9mm suppressor module that uses SWR LCD mounts.

Anyone have any idea how to get that 10% coupon from eBay?  I'd really like to get a T-1, but none of them are eligible, and I'm uncertain if I'm willing to downgrade to an H-1 or not.

Yep I made the leap today and went after a Burris Fastfire that I had been eyeballing.

Thanks

Yeah you must have received the code from eBay.

FWIW there are no T-1s that I could find. They all require a 3rd party before checking out, which the deal doesn't apply to.

Just found a qualifying T-1 on there that wasn't there yesterday. Net $450. Not bad, but you can get pretty close to that from smartgunner.com without all the hoops.

I have never seen 25% offered, only 20%. Don't know what's up with that.

Reports were that the percentage changes periodically throughout the day.
Some people here were getting 25% and I myself also got 20%

I'll take a $300 savings any day. That'll pay for a tax stamp and some carbide bits.

what exactly do you have to sign up for? I looked at the "terms & conditions" and it was not clear on what you're signing up for, but there is all this language about "accounts" and "billing" & "charges."

I think it depends on what you search for on live.com.  I know that looking up "cheap xbox" gets 25% as do a few others (gold coins, leica did earlier today but not this evening , canon, and more).

I personally have 1 time more that I can do this.  Hopefully 35% will come up soon.

I'm wondering if this is over (at least on ebay)? I checked yesterday and the instructions worked but I couldn't find a T-1 on ebay that qualified. I checked again today and when I go to live.com, there are no ebay links. I even checked their list of "cashback stores" and eBay is not on the list.

Shame, I would really like to get a deal on a T-1

I think it is done.  I got an X300 last night but the extra 10% off didn't work.  Oh well still got it to my door for $158 which is $30 cheaper than I could have got it from Midway even with my dealer discount.
