Does anyone know how the work on the SSVI guns are done? Has the owner ever shown how he does it or what he uses?

I love the look of his stippling, but im not sure how aggressive it would feel in the hand. His waiting list is miles long so his work must be worth the huge price of admission. |

Just a question for you guys that are doing this at home- if you stipple a backstrap on the gen4s do you also stipple the area under where the backstrap goes? And I would guess you had to leave the "lines" where the backstraps sit too?
Currently looking for a cheapie gen4 to trash around, and would possibly be doing the stipple myself on it. Definitely would be a first time I torched polymer, so it will be interesting if I give it a go |

Question. Any reason not to scallop the mag release on a gen 4? I saw a website that explicitly stated this service was not available. My thumb's a tad too short and I think this would help.

The material is too thin in that area for the gen 4, it would compromise the frame with little to no payoff

Yes that is indeed a Vickers grey frame, RTF2 was good but I prefer the stippling, I used a custom made tip, filed a pointed tip into a diamond shape.

Is it true that you can send in a frame with a hacked stipple job back to glock? It seems that I've read this somewhere before, if I recall someone said it was only $100.

View Quote It is true they call it a "frame upgrade" look online in the Glock website and you'll find the PDF form to send it in. Keep in mind it will have a different serial number and hence will be treated as a new firearms in most states (yeah I know stupid) and hence subject to FFL transfer. |
|
|
which is why IMHO it was stupid to attach that ser# plate to the plastic grip frame. A Ruger 22/45 the barrel/upper is the serialized part. Now you can see why a serialized "chassis" ala Sig P250/320, Keltec P11, Ruger LCP, Ruger American, etc makes more sense. You can chop, butcher, burn, melt, and stipple all you want and if you F it up, you are out $30-40 is all.

It's absolutely gives great traction without feeling like it would cause my hands to become tender or raw after an extended range/ shooting session. I rarely give recommendations for anyone or products but I wished I sent my Glock to Mike a long time ago. |
