Gorgeous gun. Phenomenal trigger.
Attached File 3/25/24 update. LokGrips thin aluminum Gridloks have arrived Attached File Behold, its current form Very hard to get a good pic of the grips, and this pic makes them seem more red and brighter than they are in real life. That said, I’m extremely pleased. |

Guns.com claims to have some, including one set up nearly exactly as I want it (but they’re asking retail for a used gun with used accessories).
I don’t know if they’re legit. |

I saw that guns.com had them. Only order off of sites known to be reputable. I almost got burned by a fake CZ USA site and now super cautious.
I will send a DM if I get notified and post here also. |

Scored mine last week from a shop in SC. Got some rounds through it and it’s a sweet shooter. Need an optic and magwell for starters then I will get rid of the red parts. Think this pistol will be staying in my collection, it feels really good in the hand and is very accurate.

The gun gods are funny. Of course when a DWX came up available for me, I had just purchased another $1000+ gun and although I can afford a DWX, I just didn’t have the cash at the time to drop on it DESPITE a good price. That was actually on Gunbroker so look there also.

Really struggling on what holster to buy for it.
I want leather and I’m leaning toward TheSoutherTrapper, but I can’t decide on which holster. I want a full brown alligator, but with light bearing, RDS, AND suede lining you’re talking a $440 holster (before adding a matching mag carrier) and that’s more than I want to spend. Attached File May settle on The Officer. Attached File Sea Witch is another one I love but not sure I want to spend the $ on. Attached File |

CZ-USA shipped part of my order (a black trigger) to some dude in DFW area without telling me it was shipped, and now has shipped another chunk of my order (3 mags) without telling me it’s en route. No one was home on Friday, and today I was in the shower when the doorbell rang.
I’ve had them forward it to a Walgreens. Hoping I can pick it up tomorrow. Ordered and paid for the Sea Witch (shark skin) holster from The Southern Trapper and now they’re saying they want a picture of the gun with the 509T on it. Unfortunately, I have not had it optic cut yet. Guess I need to email DSC again to get THAT ball rolling. edit: got the call from TheSoutherTrapper this morning… now a 6-8 week wait for the holster! Still waiting on my bud to contact me back before I place an order for “carry/show” grips. |

First off, I’m an absolute moron. I managed to get my entire gun broken down and replaced my red trigger with a black one. I thought I lost my safety detent and spring, but it turns out it was laying on the edge of my workspace. Then, when trying to reinstall the safeties (GRRRR) I managed to launch the detent and spring into near earth orbit. Yay.
Now, it appears I’ve while trying to install the safeties I managed to dent the little track in the inside face of the right hand safety where the hammer pin sits. 😤 I intend to try and fix this with a needle file. Dan Wesson has NEITHER of those items for sale on their website. Anyone have any idea where I can find them? Is the safety detent and spring just a standard 1911 item? Edit: apparently the safety plunger and safety plunger spring are standard 1911 items. |

Here’s the damage.
Attached File I spoke to ECW, they make the safeties, but don’t sell them retail. Dan Wesson/CZ I’m waiting on email/call back from Genny (Dan Wesson). CGW-waiting on return email. CZC emailed me back most Rikki-Tikki. They want to know if it causes issues with the safety function (why yes, yes it does!). CZC suggests buying a new safety from DW. Says probably about same price to fix and re-nitride. I’ll keep them in mind if DW refuses to sell one to me. Was able to find plunger and plunger spring locally. |

Assuming based on you finding it locally the plunger and spring are 1911 size?

I fired a friends brand new DWX last weekend, very nice gun but honestly the trigger was a tiny bit on the heavy side. Felt like 3.5-4lbs and I feel like the safety is a little small, especially with how stiff it was. I'm sure that will smooth out over time but it was fairly hard to manipulate in its current state. If they offered one just a tiny bit wider it would be perfect to me.

Talk about customer service. I hadn’t heard anything from CZ or DW about the safety set I had ordered, so I emailed Genny at DW yesterday. I just asked for an update.
She emailed me back Wer and said that it had not been shipped yet, but it would be shipped out today. I got a message from FedEx saying I will have a package delivered from CZ-USA on Sat. Props to her for that. They still owe me two 21 rd P10 mags. |

Good news/Bad News.
Good news? Safety arrived today! Bad news? After installation, I realized that A. The safety is super gritty. B. The “drop in” black trigger from DW/CZ-USA WILL need some work for fit. C. The hammer WILL drop when the safety is engaged, so something isn’t correct. Sigh.😞 |

I’ll need a range trip to confirm, but it all feels great and functions fine with snap caps. |

Got my Compact last week. The thumb safety was too soft, barely perceptible on or off. I tried 1911 parts from stock, they are a smaller diameter. Slightly stretched the spring and it feels right now.
