With all these less than a week approval’s, who’s lucky like me not to get one? Submitted 4/5 with the hopes of getting one but as usual, it hasn’t worked out.

Eta: mine is a form 4 individual with electronic prints.

Me too. Certified 4/8 and still waiting. So much for 24 hr approvals.

I haven't.   2/27 trust and 3/4 individual.  Nothing yet.

Note: those are both on either side of the recent eforms outage.  I had a 4373 go through about three weeks ago.  Half hour wait maybe, but I was at a big box and everyone was waiting.

Wonder how long it will take for people like us, I’ve already waited 430 days for one and my fastest was 140 days so I’m use to the wait, was hoping I’d get a week or less but didn’t happen.

I’m on day 10 and it’s killing me!  That’s only because I keep seeing people post “approved in 36 hrs” or approved in two days.

I am waiting on my supressor to clear form 3 and get shipped to my l9cal shop. It's been 3 days so far for the form 3. Then we get to start on the form 4. This will be my first one, so I'm not expecting anything quick, but it would be nice.

Not me, waiting on a trust submitted 3/12. I got a couple trust approvals quicker than this last year.

Been waiting on an individual eForm since 11/27/23, a trust from 1/15/24 and just certified another trust on 4/25. Crickets so far. Although I have some stuff on my record from 1979 so I knew it wouldn’t be fast anyway. Hopefully soon…

I submitted one on 3/27/24 and another on 4/2/24. The one from early April has been approved but the first one certified is still waiting, makes zero sense.  Both are on individual F4s

Just had two trust form 4s from Nov and Dec approved this last week.

I got one approved in early april that took 3 days.
Previous paper form 4's were average.  2- 9 months and one 7 months.
I just purchased one more today so we'll see how that goes.

I’m curious if there is some commonality between people who aren’t getting the quick individual form 4 approvals. No SSN on the form? Common name? First NFA item? Past NICS delays or denials? Low social credit score?

I feel bad for you guys but it’s not all roses over here on the sub 2 day approval side.

I used SSN
Very uncommon name
Not first NFA
Always get delays when buying a gun

I'm waiting on one from November last year and one from early April this year.

Both through Capital.

I went paper form instead of eform, I guess that's why it's taking so long.

I currently have 20 stamps so that’s not the issue. I don’t get instant NICS approval’s which is why I think the ones getting fast approval’s get fast or instant NICS approval’s. I usually have to wait 10-15 minutes before I’m approved, my wife gets instant.

I also use my SS number but that doesn’t help.

I’m just hoping to not have to wait like I did in the past.

This would make sense why you two aren’t getting fast approvals. I was listing to a podcast where someone was saying they had been on an industry call with the atf and they explained why form 4s were coming back so fast for individual e-file. Basically they have automated the system so that if the background check came back clean it would auto approve without any manual review. Trusts still have to be manually reviewed and obviously the same for paper form 4s, so that’s why those aren’t getting the quick approvals. Stands to reason if the background check comes back anything other than clean it goes in the pile for manual review.

common name

14 previous stamps....

Was really anticipating the ability to brag about getting one of those 1 or 2 day approvals...That didn't happen, and no reason why... I don't have anything whatsoever that would prevent...

Now the question is how long before they get to the ones getting thrown in the pile for review? 30 days, 60 days, 200 days?

My last approval was 168 days, I have 2 waiting at 65 and 30 days.   All on a trust.   I have one more on the way to my dealer, after I certify it I'm going  to file a couple of form 1's.

One certified 4/3, one on Tuesday. Both SS single shots

I was getting worried and researching what to do if a denial happens because it was taking so long, but it looks like it’s semi normal to not get the ultra quick turnovers.

So now I’m relieved, but now am anticipating a possible long wait ☹️

Three in the cue

1/5
4/25
4/27

All on a traditional trust through SS.

Perhaps by the start of next winter

I just watched a new video from.ASA yesterday where they again said that ATF is still working on getting standardized trusts to be completed as quick as individuals. Wonder if, when that happens, they'll clear out the existing ones first, or leave us at the bottom of the pile?

I have one from February 22 that I’m still waiting on. Feeling better that there’s others out there from that same timeframe who haven’t received their forms back yet. For a while there it seemed like all I was reading about was quick turnarounds and I was worried something was going on with mine. Seems like I just got unlucky.

The quick approvals are only for individuals. A trust is going to take months just like it always has.

That’s the $64,000 question. Not sure even the atf knows at this point.

Apparently ATF is having trouble certifying form 4's for anyone with a cadence in their name. Been waiting for them to fix the issue with their system so I can certify. Sucks.

Maybe I'm a little slow... what do you mean by "cadence"... like Jr or III? Is that what you are referring to by cadence?

Silencer Shop Announcements
Cadence issue with certifications
May 02, 2024
There is an issue with ATF eForms that is preventing individuals with a cadence (Jr, Sr, 2nd, III, etc) from being able to certify.  The ATF is aware of the issue and they are currently working on fixing it.  We would recommend waiting to certify until after the ATF has fixed the issue.
Silencer Shop will continue to provide information as we receive it.
