Henderson is surprisingly good for me. All the normal complainers are still complaining is is slow though. I'll count the pennies later, but wound up with a rossi overland 28" shotgun to play with along with a few other new toys.

Hmm, didn't see you guys...I was all the way towards the windows in the white room, to the left as you look towards the windows. Three tables full of militaria...
Decent show, no barn burner. Did better today (Sunday) than yesterday, which happens but is rare. Shit door, never crowded, didn't see many guys looking hard for the militaria... Sales wise, like I said, ok, not great, but paid for tables, bought a few things and have money going into the bank, so cant complain...but I' ve done way better. Buy wise, picked up a Chinese Tok, 3 nice Tok holsters (bought for $50, sold 2 for $55, kept third for new Tok, with $ profit!), and a 1945 Nagant revolver in beautiful shape, I had an actual WWII Nagant holster on my table I put that in. Also a 2nd Polish parachute deployed anti-tank mine. Since I just had some foot surgery a few weeks ago, the Boy helped me by bringing in all the totes an Stuff Friday, and bringing it all out and loading it today. He got a really nice Denix model M3 Grease Gun for his payment... All in all, it was a good show for me, just would've liked to see much more people, and sold more stuff (including my RPG-2, and Chinese SKS, not sad I didn't sell my Kropatschek Cavalry Carbine... |

Its an all matching gun, including mag...but I got it home and looked it over closer, while stamped 7.62x25 on the slide, the barrel is stamped 9x19, and is, indeed, a 9mm... Bummer, I want a 7.62, so I took it back Sunday morning, as he also had a 9mm on the table, I thought maybe somehow he swapped the barrels, but on examination, nope, both 9mm barrels. Having researched it Saturday night, it seems you only have to swap barrels...so I had found a 7.62 barrel with link and pin installed...he offered to return my money, but I just asked if he would give me $100 back, and I'll buy the 7.62 barrel and swap, and he agreed. So the barrel is already ordered... I guess the cool thing is, I can now swap between 7.62 and 9mm, might just have to find the 9mm mag with the spacer installed, although some say the 7.62 mags will work fine many times. As I say, its mainly a placeholder. I have seen those new batch with the trigger safety installed online, haven't seen one locally either. I did read where that trigger safety doesn't follow the trigger all the way, so it creates a somewhat uncomfortable trigger pull. The ultimate goal would be to find one that hasn't had the bullshit safety added at all... |

Changing from 7.62tok to 9mm is easy, from 9mm to 7.62tok sometimes has issues. First is the ejection port, normally the 9mm was too small to let the tok casings fly out without issue. The other thing is the ejector was too far foreward on many 9mm versions and would not eject tok cases. I've got a 9mm kit for my tok, and just use the tok magazines for 9mm without issue. Mostly shooting Winchester 124gr NATO ball it runs just fine. 9mm HP rounds sometimes have problems, but this is a fun gun not for serious use in 9mm. Also a point to remember is that most 7.62tok surplus ammo is probably corrosive, so a good cleaning is in order after shooting. My tok barrel has some pitting from years ago because of corrosive ammo, but still shoots ok, but i'd like to get another one just to be safe. And one that does not have the ugly safety on the side will be a plus. Are you going to be in Ft Worth this weekend? i could bring mine to show you the difference between the Tok round and 9mm versions of some parts. |

Any chance of finding a 98k sling and a box of ammo at Fort Worth? I seem to recall we had a member that specialized in German stuff, still around?

This is the smaller of the two Fort Worth Will Rogers shows, but almost certainly someone has a box of 8x57mm. A sling I wouldn't know. |

View Quote Yeah, I didn't set up at FT Worth, just kind if luck I was able to set up at DACA, really. I do have a few repro 98k slings available. A word of warning on originals...they are expensive anymore. Figure on $125 and up to $250 plus for a really nice one. Then they are also 80 plus years old, I wouldn't really trust them for actual use, if they break, its an expensive lesson! I also have various boxes of 8mm available, from collectible WWII German to very good modern brass cased Yugo match ammo... I will be walking around a bit next week in Mesquite, or PM me, and we can work something out if you won't make it there... @j97531 |

Mesquite was decent, lots of tables, not as big as Big Town of course, but lots to look at. Picked up some 7.62x25 for the Chinese Tok I snagged at the DACA show, traded my RPG-2 set-up for a Polish Trainer RPG-7 rocket, complete and cash, so my RPG-7 rocket bag is filled with 3 rockets.
Also picked up a Taylor's .45 Colt Model 1873 Cavalry SAA...so now I have my "Billy the Kid" 4.5" Birdshead grip in .45 Colt, a 5.5" Artillery model in .357 (nice to shoot .38 Spcl in), and now the Cavalry... Tried to keep it low key, as I just bought a new watch too! |

It's a fun show for punters, not so much for vendors - but RebleYell says he made good money there. Updated OP. The 23/24 of July is also a weekend Lug1 is scheduling a visit to Hard8 BBQ, deets to follow.
