I would like to see a stainless steel 30 round mag in 5.56mm which used Magpul followers and could hold 31 rounds. That way, with 30 rounds in place, you could easily insert it with the bolt closed for a tactical reload.

Right now, Magpul followers only allow 28 rounds to be loaded. So the mag bodies need to be 1/2 inch longer or something.

Not a huge deal. but when I load mags those 4 extra rounds every time I load two mags don't go anywhere.

Larry,

Are your stainless steel mags constructed in the same way as USGI aluminum mags...ie two stamped halves that overlap and are spot-welded along the front and rear spines?  Or are they constructed similarly to HK's M16 mags, with a continuous weld at the front and rear?

Thanks!

You just need to make sure you always load 15 mags at a time...  (J/K)

Sorry- couldn't resist. I've been reading about the availability/cost of 7.62x39. Hope things get better for you. Just glad the South Africans made the right stuff.

give them a little time to work on it.
they are making something completely new and they want it to work.
you can't wait you can get USA mags in 7.62x39 that don't work today!

i am in for 6 mags and if it takes a little extra time to make them right i am cool with it.

Aimless,
Thanks.
We are altering the tool this week (4/25/06), and feel that within the next 3 weeks the 7.62x39 mags will be ready for the market.
By mid May we will be in full production on the 6.5 Grendel, 6.8, and 7.62x39 all in stainless steel. As well as the 10 round magazine. Busy times at C Products!!

You only get one chance to make a first impression. So take as long as you need with the 7.62x39 mags. I'd rater wait and have a problem free mag than have them right now and have noting but problems. As of today C Products site states "AVAILABLE STARTING 5-17-06" if it takes longer know you'll be getting the best-made product they can make.

Amen!

I've made do with Frankenmags this long, I can wait a little longer if it means a reliable, traditional-looking mag...

Larry, are there plans to market a 10 rounder 7.62x39 magazine?  The limit in my state is 10 rounder.  I would even be happy to buy your 25 rounder if it has a stopper in it to make it a 10 rounder.

you can just stick a block of wood inside a 30 rounder that is big enough to only let you put 10 rounds in.  there are a lot of working 10 round mags on the market.  colt makes a nice one you can buy at most gun shows.

Model 1 Sales offers an excellent 10 rounder - once you get them broken in!  You need to shoot them a bit to smooth them out.  (Oh horror of horrors!  The thought of having to go to the range an break in a new piece of gun gear!  How will we ever manage!!!)  Price and service are good as well.  And the mags are about the same size as a 5.56mm 20 rounder so they don't look goofy hanging from the AR.

That said, from what I've seen of Larry's mags, the Model 1 stuff ins't quite in Larry's league!  My younger son has about a dozen of Larry's 20 rounders w/ the gen II followers & Ranger Pulls over in the Sandbox and they are functioning flawlessly!

Larry, thanks again!

I ordered some when they were first announced and my credit card has not been charged yet, so I'm guessing they are not shipping yet.

I just checked their website and it now shows the "date available" as June 1st. I guess we need to wait a bit longer.

Sorry, not trying to.
As of right now we have no plans for a 10 round 7.62x39. We are just finishing the tool alterations for the 30 rounder. Let me see what the cost would be to do a 10. I will keep you posted.

Okay.  Thanks Larry.

HK940-  Yea.  I have bought many of the 10 rounders from other companys but they have problems feeding.  Model 1 is out of 10 rounders, and I am not happy with their response.  They shipped an entire kit to me without the mag I ordered and I didn't have a magazine for a month (or so).  I am willing to take on of CProducts 30 rounders with a stopper in it!  Larry, maybe you could just add a stopper in it.  I know its can be done, but I want it to look legal.
