Just curious...but why would you use this mount on an MRP? |
Cuz its PURDY!!! I know, there is no real benefit, as it is designed to mount over the delta ring, but I like how it looks and maybe alittle (very little) weight distribution. Other than that...no reason I suppose you want me to hand deliver it to you at GAT Guns since I dont need it??? |
maybe I should read and not just look at pictures before I post a sarcastic reply |
do you think that the extension ( not the base where the levers are but the part under the scope rings) will sit right on top of a rasII
No. C4 |

Mount looks pretty friggin great! If it has been posted already and I over looked it, I apologize in advance. But I really didnt see it asked... The screw on the port side of the mount, I presume that is extra battery storage? Correct? Looking good!
That is correct. It is a water tight storage compartment for a spare Aimpoint battery. That would negate people from having to spend the $30 for the Aimpoint double battery module! C4 |

Actually let's wait and double check to make sure. C4 |
Nope, I was smart and bugged grant about it the minute he posted about it, so I'm one of the lucky 10 |

That would not be advisable anyway. IIRC, the LT Cantilever mount is made to go directly on a flattop allowing it to cowitness with the irons in the bottom 1/3rd of the sight picture. Placing that mount on the hump of a RAS-II would place it at an additional .5" above the reciever, and I do not think that you would be able to cowitness at that height. Of course I may be wrong about the LT mount's height. |
I don't think he wants to mount it on the RAS II Bridge (thought this myself at first), but wants to mount the Cantilever mount BEHIND the bridge. I think it is better to just buy the LT RAS II mount (as it is cheaper and will put the Aimpoint in the same place).... C4 |

damn thing would show up between paychecks....
Well next week for sure. . |
Shit more things I need to buy. I need to pay for my sig 229 first. lol
Awsome pics!
Can you get any shots of the full rifle with the mount, side view? |
This looks like a great mount but how does it compare to the GG&G cantilever mount? Speaking as a noob it looks the same to me. I have been out of the AR game for a while but still have a GG&G mount from my last M4gery before I had to sell it. With some extra money I got for Christmas I will probably buy a replacement this weekend.

Hey Grant, will you be doing a combo deal Larue cantilever mount and Aimpoint ML2? How much?
Well, it cost $70 less, has an integrated spare battery compartment, AND features a quick detach throw lever... |
SHUT YOUR MOUTH! C4 |

Here is a pic of the new Aimpoint 3X! It is a VERY impressive unit to say the least. It weighs in (with the LT mount attached) at 10 ounces. It has over 2" of eye relief. There are two buttons at the top that adjust the internal prism so that you can put the Aimpoint dot in the center of the magnifier.

how much for the magnifier and both larue mounts? and where do i sign up
Grant-
Is that a Std. LT mount? ie. would any ring/mt. combo that fits an M2/ML2 fit the magnifier? Any reason that "Magnifier" can't be used as a monocular when disconnected/dismounted from the receiver? Thanks Grant- oh and est. delivery/pricing? /S2 |
No pricing yet. C4 |
Any mount should work just fine. You will have to cut the rubber around the end to get a 30mm around it. I don't see why you couldn't use it as a monocular. I don't have pricing and availability should be after the shot show. You goin this year??? C4 |
Are you taking orders for the Aimpoint 3x magnifier yet Grant? If so, please put me down for one
tagged....I'm gonna need to see some pricing before I can start dreaming
Yes I am. Shoot me an e-mail and I will put you on my back order list. [email protected] C4 |
Grant,
Please tell LaRue to build a da-da-damn 90degree LEFT flip mount for it. Two or three Ball-Bearing detent lock would be just fine. Dave S |
Why is it two rail slots away from the Aimpoint?
Oh yeah, NICE!!! |
Why not??? C4 |
Thats gonna take some getting used to.
I dont think that system will take a drop as well as an acog.... but then, if the magnification breaks, big deal, you still got 1x red dot sights.... and then BUIS for backup. I guess all three failing would be pretty unlikely. |
Ya know... looking at that.... they should make the magnifier with a supple 1/4" extension at the front, and design the mounts so you can butt the back up the aimpoint right up against the magnifier... sealing the system. I think it would look neater too.... I understand this would bring your dot a little farther back... but with the magnifier I dont think it would matter much.
That's why God invented paint. |
They are pretty rugged so I wouldn't worry about breaking it. C4 |
That is a pretty sweet set up. I'm normally the type to get hyped up over gear, but this one definately has my attention!
Will to work closer or further from the Aimpoint? What have you found to be optimal adn why |
These pics are from LaRue Tactical and are not mine. So I cannot say for certain as to where the best position is.... C4 |
Oh, I thought the pics were yours. damn it don't play us like that. JK. thanks for the pics. I'm sure we'll be doing buisness real soon. |
Grant, I will be sending you an email to get on the backorder list.
Thanks, Grant. See you there... /S2 |
