Reiko that is really nice work but you need to lengthen the M203 by 1.5x or so and 1.25x height or so.
Scope is too thin. Fatten it up and it will look great. M203 barrels, IIRC, come pretty darn near the end of a 14.5" barrel. The end of the GL mount wraps around the cut so that could give you a reference. |
|
Thanks! Ive never handled an M203 and the only pictures Ive seen have the M203 on an M4 so I really can't grasp the length... And I figured a 40mm 'nade launcher should be the same diameter as a 40mm objective scope. Given that they both get scaled up, I think we have a solution! Does that look like a proper scale? And to that end, could people please snap some pictures of acessories they have? All Ive got a Harris Bipod and a Surefire M4 Devastator, beyond that, Id love some great pictures (orthographics rock) so I can model some more things. |

Actually I think what's throwing things off is the length of your barrel versus the distance the FSB is from the delta ring. Looks more like a dissipator with a little extra barrel length and too long of a handguard (I don't like that type so it's too long to me.)
The mount for the 203 is kinda thick. Mounting it up closer to the barrel would make it look better. I might be able to find some good pictures for you. LMT Catalog That's a link to some nice sideviews of a lot of what you are going for. Have fun with it. |

What kind of velocity do you get at the end of the muzzle and what grain wt. do you would you use if you needed the rifle for self-defense? |
|
|
I think closing off the bottom of that FH would go a long way to making your CG look even more realistic! Looks great, though, wish I could do that! The closed bottom ports of the A2 FH, or at least spacing out the slots further so it looks like an A1 FH is a really nitpicky element, but really, it looks great! ~Augee |

HA! I KNEW they put rack numbers on the QRP also. Nice M4/M203 and thanks for your service! Take care and God Bless! |
|
|
wasn't there a big argument in the M4 pic thread about that? |

People seem to think that there's a set "USGI standard" for everything! If you want to build a really accurate USGI M4 clone as a tribute to our soldiers, what you really need to do is go to Ranger Joe's and buy every piece of junk CAA/Tapco accessory you can find, and then jam it on to your rifle, preferably with a hammer, and you'll be good to go! ~Augee |

XD-Shawn - What type of light and mounting unit is that on the AR on the left...I love it!

wanted to get a build like I had in service XM-177 ordered a c-more using aimpoint for now |

My dealer was in Florida and mine has the YHM front sight. I ordered it in the end of September, it came in to his office on Monday, so about 9 weeks. |

Sorry but that's junk. Have you tried firing from the "left" mag yet? |
|
|
As far as rack numbers go, the guy in charge of the "rack" puts numbers where he wants when he wants to keep track of issued gear. There's no winner or loser as to where they are supposed to be. Blanco- shame on you for scribbling on stuff to prove you are the retro king |

Get rid of those junk USA Brand magazines and buy some PMags! So whats the deal with that lower? Its not marked with the "fun" position, but the selector is obviously in the space for full auto fire.. Registered drop in Auto sear? And not to bust ballz, but thats a Tasco aimpoint knock-off. |

their's no across the army standard on whether or not to put numbers on the aimpoints, its not even across the board in my company. mine just happens to have one. also, of you didn't notice there isn't a single piece of caa/tapco junk on my service rifle. |

I don't know why you quoted me... |

Does the Arisaka take a detachable clip? Im wondering how to load mine. I see it has a follower attached to a spring attached to the door underneath the rifle. Any tips?
And do you know what caliber it is? |

I like your 'work' as it were. Any chance of a Largeish picture of that when / if you finish it for my desktop? I'm getting bored With women and the Agency (Hitman Games) as backgrounds... |
|

cool, but none of my "civilian" rifles have caa/tapco junk either and never will. you are right though, they sell caa stuff at the px like its going out of style. |

Willie_J, what single point sling do you have? I noticed the rear quick detach buckle. I have the same stock - did you buy a sling adapter, or is it wrap around (rumor has it that RRA uses Locktite (*spelling*) to secure their stocks...)

People here, who have no idea how complicated these damn programs are, are quick to judge. Having actually played with 3D SM, AC, etc... I can honestly say that you have got some mad skills my friend. Great work! The fact that a couple peopel in this thread said that your are a good "photographer" is proof enough. The billion dollar vid-game industry is thirsty for people like you - especially with how well COD4 is doing. Congrats! CJ |
