Rumour (and not from NAG) has this as the new USSOC ECOS version (the ACOG, M145 ELCAN and EOETCH were downselected to provide systems)  So thats where the 14.5" M855 reticle comes from.

I want a 16" 6.8 reticle

"Oh I see" said the blind man.

BTW m193 would be closer to 6.8 than m855

I would have loved a chevron, but you won't see me complain one bit.  Especially considering how rare it is to find one available. I've been looking for two months with no luck.

Well, I'm with the 1st Marines in Fallujah...and we use the TA31F on our A4s (20inch barrel) with no problems.  We have a LCpl that scored a confirmed kill and 752 yds with a 31Foxtrot...yeah baby!

You can sight the 31F in with a 20" barrel with NO problems men.  We do it everyday....and get good kills.  In fact, I would say 75% of our riflemen have the TA31F...the others have the EOTech 551 or 551 Ver E.

Just food for thought....

Peace.  ARCAPTN

Okay... I guess I'll have to get two ACOGs and a new 20" rifle on which to mount 2nd ACOG.

I cannot pass this up. Problem is I don't really have the fundage. I might just have to release my M1A back into the wild to afford this.

[muttering]Damn black rifle disease, what did I ever do to deserve this. Why can't they just quit making such great stuff and pulling me back in, WHY I OUGHTA[/muttering]

I can always ask but I doubt it. I've considered selling my NSN model to fund this TA31, but I hate selling things!!!

I am selling an aimpoint on my AK to fund this.  THen My AR will have the ACOG and my AR will have an EOTECH

I am sincerely happy for all that are content with this combination.  Really.  Since this is a civilian group purchase though, I am curious why Trijicon is choosing this particular model for us.  I would wager that most of us have 16.5" barrels or greater, and shoot 55 gr. ammo.  I would also be surprised if any of us would choose a TA51 mount over a 19S.     Let me guess, a military over run that Trijicon would otherwise have to eat?

I mean no disrespect to New-arguy.  I know he has worked very, very diligently on this project.  I am just venting at my own dissapointment that this combo won't suit me.  I guess I will just have to be content with owning the TA44.

I have GOT to hang out here more often.
Firewall @ work blocks AR15.com but I can surf glocktalk.com all day - go figure. Wonder what weenie set that up.

Anyway - just when I am ready to talk myself out of an ACOG due to cost - you go and do something like this - guess I had better start saving my pennies fast.

Not sure if I am breaking protocol by mentioning this in this thread, and if I am, just email me and I will retract my post, but...

Botac.com has extended their 4th of july sale by 72 hours, so they will continue to offer 15% of your entire purchase until 2000EST on the 8th.  Their TA31 scopes usually run $889, right now they are $755.  Not sure when this group buy is going down, but this could save you all some money.

I just bought a TA31 from them, my first ACOG, and if I like it, not my last.  That being said...anyone know which mount I need to put this on my flattop Bushie?

Botach is back ordered on TA31's just like everybody else. Great price, but your going to be waiting for along time.

Back Order, Out of stock or otherwise, if it means saving $200 on a Trijicon I can place my order now and wait 2 weeks, 4 weeks, even 6 weeks for it to come into stock! In the mean time I will take my $200 saved worth of ammo to the range and warp my barrel using iron sights while I wait for my scope to arrive!

Afterall, I have lived without one this long, what is another month or two?

I have placed over a half dozen orders with them and only ever had one items on back order.  It arrived one week after the rest of the order, with no additional shipping costs.  Besides, the TA31 I want isnt the donut reticle, and botac does offer me the choice.

Even so, when is your offer for the group buy valid until?

No, but too many people seem overly interested as to WHERE I get it, though.  You would think I invested my life savings into swamp land the way people talk down to me as if I were an idiot for buying something from a company that has, in my repeated experience with them, a good record for service and reliability.

I was just willing to bet that I get mine before anyone in the group buy, if this group buy is anything like previous ones I have seen on here, it will sit as a sign up list for months.  Besides, if Quoted:

I was quoted two years as the "high" end of their estimated back log by two Trijicon dealers. Lets hope it never gets to be that bad, but it does not surprise me with how many pictures I've seen lately of U.S. Army, Marines and IDF personal with TA31's. They seem to be buying the hell out of them.
