We have clone threads devoted to FBI HRT, Secret Service, and tons of SOF stuff but what about the Marshals? Being about the only respectable federal agency left id like to see what these guys are using currently. Anyone have any ideas or pics?

M4A1 and 6921's are the carbines generally seen in the back of our G-Rides.

A couple worn MP5SF and an SD with two round round burst only.  A couple 870WP models that are tired.  The USMS is more about catching bad guys and getting the job done than keeping up w the jones.

Why? Makes more sense then mounting it on top of the carry handle. Lots of Aimpoints were mounted that way before there were flattops.

Heck, some units mount them that far forward even with flattops.

I got an old A1 carry handle AR that I'm toying with the idea of a goose neck mount. I'd like one of the original Aimpoint mounts but with a modern interface for like a micro or a PA mini.

I feel like with how much of the top of the line gear HRT has, Marshals would have the same or better going after the most dangerous fugitives.

Much different funding source, plus Marshals are not trained like HRT. Not even close

The US Marshall's I have met around here are all over weight fat fucks. They contract out all the work to the BCA and Sheriff's departments here.

So Marshals fast rope, do helo insertions, work in a team of highly trained operators using small unit tactics? All the ones I have worked with have been not that impressive

There's a difference between your run of the mill Deputy Marshal and someone from SOG.  That's like giving an infantry grunt shit because he's not as highly trained as Delta.

News to me. Not doubting, I just didn’t think they did. All my high speed days are long behind me and now I just work at an installation where lots of agencies train. The Marshals that I saw were just like normal LEOs. When I was doing cool guy stuff, I trained and taught tons of SWAT, ICE, etc.. No Marshals though

There are different levels of "US Marshall". Some do courthouse/courtroom security, some do prisoner transport, and some do door-kicking.

A lot of the fugitive door-kicking teams are task-forces made up of local LE "deputized" as a Marshall.

Still not on the same level as HRT.

Not saying SOG is a shitshow, but they aren’t on the same level.

And yes, I’ve worked with SOG.

I have a good friend that is a US Marshall. Let's say somebody gets all messed up on meth, robs a bank, kills three tellers, and holes up in a dirtbag motel and wants to play bad ass. My friend is who they send to dig him out. Super nice young man with a great family. Glad I know him.

I wasn't implying that they're on par with HRT, I was just stating that there are different levels of proficiency depending on which group we're talking about

On the subject of rifles, one of the guys I have worked with has a new personal rifle that was from an approved list. He had an issued M4 that was pretty worn in
