Mike did you BOTHER to read this thread in which this issue was discussed and people who have actually been to the store have related how much they cost when Brian has them in stock and how they thought the prices were MORE than fair? I've seen complete preban lowers in the shop for $400, ready to slap an upper on. When you consider that the 3 Rock River lowers cost him $300, that he has to ship the lowers out to the other person's FFL, has to book them out and the new ones in, and he has to sit on the inventory until somebody buys it... that is not a huge mark-up! So yes, the prices are in my mind VERY fair. A lot fairer than some of the prices I've seen on the EE from people figuring they will recoup some of their "investment" they feel they lost with the passing of the federal AWB on the backs of those who live in states where bans still exist..
Seriously, I'm getting sick of defending someone who has been NOTHING but amazing to the Avilas, this board and its members.
In any event, the answer to your question could have been found in the threa... yeah its a long one, but these speculative posts with a tinge of derision in them do nothing to encourage dealers and such to actively support the board and make offers to members. Yes, Brian makes a slight profit in this, but without profit he isn't writing to checks to the Avilas to support the site, he isn't offering discounted transfers to board members, he isn't employing people, he isn't running arguably one of the best Gun shop in the Northeast. Oh yeah, and board members who CHOSE to participate received two or three NEW receivers from a manufacturer we all pretty much consider to be on par with Bushy in terms of quality in trade for their used. Incidently, some receivers we get in (and not saying from this batch because I didn't see them) need to be refinished... further cutting into the "profit" margin.
