You need to quietly ask a MOD to lock your thread and ask your firearm questions in the "armory" area. Inside the armory, there is a general gun discussion where you can get better answers than you can in this section of the forum. The General Discussion has too much trafic and you can expect people to harass you here because you are:

A: a girl (not a bad thing at all, we have many women shooters here, but check criteria "B")
B: a girl whos first post is in General Discussion introducing herself as a girl

AR15.com and women who make their first post in the General Discussion have a long, colorful history.

In summation, get the thread locked, move your question to the armory, and dont let the posters on the General Discussion chase you away. This is the largest firearms forum on the internet and it has all kinds...

The best info anybody can ever give you for learning on this site is to read. No bullshit. Read about AR's on the AR section, read about Glocks in the Glock section. Do a search on this site for "home defense" or "best self defense weapon" The "best" is different for everybody, all you can do is read their responses, filter out the BS, and decide based on your unique situation (direct use, financially etc.) what is the "best" for you.

If you have specific questions about Glocks or AR's or anything else we can answer that. We can not answer what the "best" is.

I have given you the secret, now do something useful with it.
