Sure looks like the rear sight of a Sig P226 to me. I have the rear sight off my KWC GBB Sig P226 the exact same way. At first the length of the holster threw me too. But it looks just like the rear end of a P226 to me.
Any one have more pictures of MP5s being used in iraq? Or any other unique weapons? P90s, UMPs, G36s, Galils, and the such. |

Yeah, my fault. He is a German. Didn't see the The "U.S." in front of the military pics until now. I think its still a great pic though. STG44, G43, and a Panzerfaust. This guy is loaded for bear. Russian Bear. Think it was taken on the Eastern Front late in WWII. Terry |

I have had this tagged for quite some time hoping for some more awsome desktop pics! Maybe we could fire this thread up again?

Alchemist, i remember seeing that picture for the first time as a pre-teen. FAR more awe-inspiring now that i've seen Saving Private Ryan. I can't imagine what it would be like to be on the first wave of Operation Overlord.

Me too, it is unimaginable. I have the UTMOST respect for the men who put it all on the line to storm that beach. Incredible. |

Buck 110....... I had one as a kid, and I still have it now. Always in service at home, and on the Battlefield. I salute Cpl. Toloza, and I pray for all of our Troops and Allies. May God continue to bless America, and may he continue to bless our Allies. Be Safe. Joe salute |

Not good if this guy ends up shooting. That strap over the ejection port is going to be the cause of a real lousy day. |

If y'all are actually curious, you can draw pretty clear parameters for elite units based on ethnic groups, largely based on how much people like working in small groups and alone. Black folks tend (in general) to want to be in larger groups, mexicans don't mind working completely alone, white people are somewhere in the middle. Same selection rigor, "equally elite", different compositions of different teams based on the wants of the people busting ass to get in. This has been pretty clear since the mid-1970s. It doesn't "mean" anything per se. You will find tons of Southerners in the Special Forces, fewer in Force Recon (a lot of midwesterners there and people from Pennsylvania and Ohio), for instance. The Navy is full of people from California and New England. Texans wind up anywhere around nuclear weapons (SAC at one point was 35% Texan). It isn't a secret plot. This is a huge country full of different people. Well, except the part about Texans and nukes. That's a secret plot. But we don't have to tell anyone. |
