Mother Russia is getting madder than hell about this… and the EU have been summoned to demand an explanation for their disgraceful  comments about the siege.

The Russian foreign ministry described the comment as "insolent, odious and deeply offensive," and summoned the Dutch ambassador to Moscow to demand a full explanation.

Mr Bot said there had been a regrettable misunderstanding about the remarks and he hoped to clear up the row in a face-to-face meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov."

You know, this is exactly what the EU would be saying to the US right about now, if these events had occurred on American soil.

And Russia has answered the EU in a manner that I can only hope that the United States would likewise have done!

As time goes on, it may be that Russia, Israel, and the United States become even more closely allied due to the tenacity and utmost evil of our common enemies, and as a natural reaction against the insouisance or nonchalance of our present 'allies', the EU!

I have tried to play my small part in keeping this thread on track (albeit very small, thank you Balzac72 for getting us here) so I'm sorry to take it on a momentary tangent, but I would like to say THANK YOU MR. REAGAN for making it possible for us to realign the powers of the world so that we can work together today on this problem. May we all remember that the Cold War is over and that Russia is now one of our allies. Those relations strengthen everyday. May we be united now in the common goal of ridding the world of those who would do such barbaric acts.

Now, back on track. God speed little ones. May you find peace and no longer suffer.

Russian Town Mourns as Putin Vows Fight
Over 300 People, Including 156 Children, Were Killed in Violence That Ended Standoff
By MIKE ECKEL, AP

BESLAN, Russia (Sept. 5) - Wails of mourning echoed through the streets of this southern Russian town on Sunday, and the region's top police officer reportedly resigned in the wake of the school hostage-taking that left more than 380 people dead - nearly half of them children.

A shaken President Vladimir Putin went on national television Saturday to make a rare and candid admission of Russian weakness in the face of an "all-out war'' by terrorists. He said Russians must mobilize against terrorism and promised wide-ranging reforms to toughen security forces and purge corruption.

"We showed weakness, and weak people are beaten,'' he said in a speech aimed at addressing the grief, shock and anger felt by many after a string of terrorist attacks that have killed some 480 people in the past two weeks, apparently in connection with the war in Chechnya.

Dozens of men dug graves in a football field-sized tract next to the Beslan cemetery on Sunday morning, while surveyors across the road marked out new plots with wooden stakes and string. Coffin lids stood outside the entrances to apartment buildings, along with wooden planks bearing the names of victims who were to be buried in funerals beginning later Sunday. Wailing could be heard from courtyards where families were preparing ritual meals.

The regional health ministry said 180 people were missing after the three-day ordeal, which ended in a bloody wave of explosions and gunfire Friday when militants set off bombs rigged in the school gymnasium and commandos stormed the building. Russian media speculated that some of the missing could be among the wounded who were brought to various hospitals in the southern Russian region.

Outside the shattered gymnasium on Sunday, Svetlana Debloyeva, 42, clutched a picture of her 11-year-old son Zaur, one of those unaccounted for.

"I lost my boy,'' she cried as she approached the building, where she had been squeezed in among the more than 1,100 hostages.

A duty officer at the North Ossetian health ministry said Sunday that 350 victims had been killed. More than 540 people were wounded - mostly children. Medical officials said 423 people remained hospitalized Sunday, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported.

Emergency Situations Minister Boris Dzgoyev said Saturday that 35 attackers - heavily-armed and explosive-laden men and women who were reportedly demanding independence for Chechnya - were killed in 10 hours of battles that shook the area around the school with gunfire and explosions.

However, Russian Deputy Prosecutor Sergei Fridinsky said Sunday that according to the latest information, 32 terrorists had been involved in the hostage-taking, and the bodies of 30 of them had been found, the Interfax news agency reported.

Including the militants, at least 380 people died in the tragedy.

Three suspects were detained in Beslan on Saturday and they took part in identifying the militants, Interfax reported, citing unnamed law enforcement sources.

Putin took a defiant tone, acknowledging Russia's weaknesses, but blaming it on the fall of the Soviet Union, foreign foes seeking to tear apart Russia and on corrupt officials. He said Russians could no longer live "carefree'' and must all confront terrorism.

Measures would be taken, Putin promised, to overhaul the law enforcement organs, which he acknowledged had been infected by corruption, and tighten borders.

"We are obliged to create a much more effective security system and to demand action from our law enforcement organs that would be adequate to the level and scale of the new threats,'' he said.

North Ossetian Interior Minister Kazbek Dzantiyev submitted his resignation on Sunday morning, said Alexander Andreyev of the southern regional branch of the Russian Interior Ministry.

"After what happened in Beslan, I don't have the right to occupy this post as an officer and as a man,'' ITAR-Tass quoted Dzantiyev as saying.

Channel One television quoted a regional spokesman as saying that the resignation had not yet been accepted.

The militants seized the school Wednesday on what was to have been the first day of class after summer vacation. Children, along with parents who had been dropping them off, were herded into the gym, which the militants quickly wired with explosives.

Russian officials said the bloodshed began when explosions were apparently set off by the militants - possibly by accident - as emergency workers entered the school courtyard to collect the bodies of hostages killed in the initial raid Wednesday.

Hostages fled during the blasts, and the militants opened fire on them, prompting security forces to return fire and commandos to move in, officials said.

The explosions tore through the roof of the gymnasium, sending wreckage down on hostages, killing many. Many survivors emerged naked covered in ashes and soot, their feet bloody from jumping barefoot out of broken windows to escape.

There were hundreds of people crammed into a gym with no a/c or water for two and a half days.  They took their clothes off to help with the heat.

...or maybe the Russian military stripped them as they came out, to make sure they hadn't had bomb belts strapped to them.

Cabby: We would've heard about it by now. I doubt the the Ruskies had the chance to ask everyone stripe down because during the fire fight everybody was just trying to save themselves.

From  52 Hours of Horror and Death for Captives at Russian School.

People did what they could to take care of themselves, shedding clothes to cool down, and tearing apart textbooks to use as fans. "For two days I was continually waving my arm to fan my children," Ms. Bekoyeva said. The terrorists also gradually restricted access to the bathroom, first allowing five hostages at a time to use the toilets, then three. With little chance for their turn, the younger children could not hold back and relieved themselves in the crowd's midst. "We had them urinate into bundles of cloth," Emma said.

They were stuck in a gym in 90+ degree heat without water…

NOW! DO YOU WANT TO GET REALLY MAD?

Although some of the 'liberal' press has tried to imply that many of the hostages died of gunshots, it now appears most died in the initial explosion but many were burned to death when the wooden roof of the gym collapsed on them and caught fire, and that is why the parents were so frantically storming the gym… they could hear the screams of their children.

Ad guess how these 'glorious' Chechen 'warriors' amused themselves? THEY WERE RAPING THE OLDER SCHOOLGIRLS AND FILMING IT! Thats right… these fucking godless savages were raping schoolgirls and filming it, don't believe me? Been all over the papers over here with eyewitness reports… and an 18 month old BABY is in hospital with multiple bayonet wounds…

But that is 'ok' under 'their' rules because the RoP® Textbook permits commiting these act's on 'infidels'…  RoP® my ass!

Story in the press…

"THE full horror of the Russian school atrocity began to emerge yesterday as traumatised children told horrific tales of stabbed babies and brutal rapes.

It has also emerged that scores of the 323 who died - including many children - had been shot in the back.

While despairing soldiers and rescue workers moved among the growing pile of body bags, it was revealed that an 18-month-old baby had been repeatedly stabbed by a black-clad terrorist who had run out of ammunition.

Other survivors told how screaming teenage girls were dragged into rooms adjoining the gymnasium where they were being held and raped by their Chechen captors who chillingly made a video film of their appalling exploits

HOSTAGE CRISIS AFTERMATH
Soldier Recalls the Slaying of a Young Human Shield
In commandos' chaotic siege, 'the child had to be killed first, and then they killed the terrorist.'
By Kim Murphy
Times Staff Writer

September 5, 2004

BESLAN, Russia -- Mikhail, a soldier who participated in the terrible battle at Middle School No. 1, is matter-of-fact as he describes how Russian commandos killed a young hostage.

"On the second floor, there was one fighter who was covering himself with a child," Mikhail, who gave only his first name, said Saturday. "The child had to be killed first, and then they killed the terrorist. It was the kind of situation where the guys who had to seize the building weren't thinking about anything else. They saw a fighter, and destroyed this fighter.

"So of course, friendly casualties were inevitable."

A day after a battle that would leave 340 hostages dead, participants and witnesses described a scene of bedlam and horror.

The conflagration erupted unexpectedly, so unexpectedly that Russian officials believe now it may well have been an accident. After lacing the building with explosives, investigators believe, hostage-takers who had terrorized 1,000 adults and children for three days may have accidentally pulled the line on one of their own booby traps.

The ensuing explosions prompted several hostages to make a break, and when the guerrillas shot at their captives, Russian commandos outside opened fire. Two hours of intense gunfire and near-pandemonium ensued, as neighborhood men grabbed their own guns to join the fight and bullets began flying in nearly every direction ? even as the hostages, most of them children, were running for safety.

"We drove to the school, and started directing [escaping] children who were running toward us in all possible directions," Mikhail said. "There's only one word that can characterize what was happening: chaos. I don't think there was a strategy or anything. No one had expected anything like this to happen."

An Emergency Situations Ministry employee, sent in to help evacuate hostages and the injured, said the presence of civilians with guns made the situation dangerous for everyone.

When the firing began, four Emergency Situations employees had just approached the school under an agreement to remove long-dead bodies from outside. "Two of our guys were killed instantly, and two others lay wounded for four hours," said the employee, who wouldn't give his name.

"There was this huge crowd of people, most of them with guns, about 500 people, I'd say," the employee said. "They weren't doing anything specifically. They were just running around chaotically."

A special people's militia had been deputized for the siege, but "they were a classic example of a loose cannon," he said. "I personally was more afraid of them than I was of the fighters."

The Russian commandos' tactic, he said, was to join in firing at a single guerrilla position at a window. When that guerrilla was driven back, "a Spetsnaz [special forces] guy would jump in the window and start handing out hostages to his buddies. Then they'd go to the next window. And all of this was under very intense gunfire, just nonstop gunfire."

The job of his team, he said, was to get the hostages to safety once the commandos pulled them out of the windows.

"In a situation where there's just gunfire all over the place, our guys would run through the firing sector up to the building, grab a hostage, and run back," he said. "There were basically bullets and little pieces of brick and stone flying all over the place."

The neighborhood around the school, so middle class it looks like it ought to be in Dayton, Ohio, instead of the Russian Caucasus, looked more like Beirut on Saturday.

Residents who were finally allowed to return to their homes found signs of the battle.

"Everything you see there on the floor is blood. There was blood all over the wall there where the children were touching it," Zara Dudarova, who spent two days as a hostage, said as she stood in the ruins of a guesthouse where dozens of children and other captives fleeing the school sought temporary refuge. A smell like bad meat hung in the air, and the patio outside was littered with shell casings.

Up and down the street, residents swept up broken glass and crumbled bricks from their apartments, many of which had been used as firing positions by Russian commandos.

The potato plants and squash in Dudarova's garden were flattened, apparently by soldiers who took cover behind her wall. Three armored personnel carriers and a tank had roared up the normally tranquil street, leaving bits of rubble behind.

"I was here the whole time, and the things that were happening here yesterday weren't even happening during World War II," said Georgy Beroyev, a 58-year-old resident of the apartment building across from the school. "They were bombing the place so heavily that the whole building was shaking."

While Beroyev was quaking in his living room armchair, he would learn later, his 10-year-old twin grandsons were dying in the school gymnasium.

The battle, which began shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, continued until after 6. Into the night, Russian forces worked to eject a guerrilla holed up in the basement, reportedly with several hostages.

"By 8 or 9, all the civilians had left here and the military were just finishing off the terrorists," said a resident of the neighborhood, Artur, who had helped as a militia volunteer all afternoon.

"They asked us to leave," he said. "They told us they were going to clear the mines, and they wanted us to leave. Whatever they did at the end, they never allowed us to see it."

Ass beating?  A Chechen murderer and rapist sympathizer comes onto a Memorial thread about dead school children and parents and talks about "deserving it" and I'M getting my ass beat? ”All three of them are admitting to guilt,” the news agency quoted North Ossetian interior ministry spokesman Ismel Shaov as saying.

“According to their testimony, we hope to find the people who ordered this attack,” he said.

He said one of the three was believed to have been linked to previous alleged terror attacks.

According to the latest official toll, 330 people, half of them children, died in the three day stand-off that ended Friday in a six-hour gunfire exchange.

That was exactly what the original poster (Balzac72) asked for on the very first post of the very first page and then repeatedly again throughout the thread. Yet, some ignorant people just have to squeeze their $.02 in despite those requests and keep trying to start smack.

Let's keep it on topic.

This gives me new resolve tomorrow when I get on that plane to Iraq.
It's not just about America anymore. Killing every single one of these terrorist pigs will make everyone safer, here at home and abroad. No mercy. Kill 'em all. Let Lucifer sort 'em out when it's over.

My prayers and sympathies go out to the Russian people.  I did not post until now because the rage that I have felt this week has not lessened and has evoked from me much of what has been said here already.   Only Godless animals would do this to children.  May these vermin be hunted and exterminated with extreme prejudice.  Sadly, I doubt that this will be a wake up call for the comatose weasels in the EU.  Hopefully President Putin will come to his senses, put global politics aside and recognize that we were right from the beginning.  Screw the appeasing French and Germans and join us in this fight!

How can anyone justify the murder of 350+ innocent children?

I'm curious as to why the kids were naked?  Anyone have a clue?

I read in The Washington Post that the hostages were kept in very cramped, hot conditions.  They were not given water, nor were they allowed to go to the restroom.  Hostages were given plastic bottles to urinate in and drink from.  Teachers poured urine on to the children to keep them cool. . . .

Not terribly nice.

Little boys and girls slaughtered for "Allah."  I could kill and save the tears for when I run out of ammo.  They are barbarians.
