Cocaine is a hell of a drug.  That's the only way I can understand how people thought those colors were pleasing and that disco was good.

It wasn't that people thought the colors looked nice, it was the only thing available - things weren't inexpensive.

I'm old enough to remember the bicentennial, 1976 - pretty much everyone and everything was "America - Fuck Yea!!!!".  I can't think about it too much though, because it can be depressing to tears to think we'll collectively never be that proud of our country again.

No it was not. By then the muscle care had been castrated by unleaded gas, catalytic converters, the insurance industry. etc, etc.

71 was the last year of real muscle cars. By 74 they were just shadows of their former selves. By 75 they were all gone.

I skipped buying a very nice house with a very recent kitchen renovation at an awesome fire-sale price because the cabinet doors were drilled in their centers for the pulls. I bet the cabinet maker gave him the when the owner told them where he wanted the holes.

I had the same car in high school ... except mine had the flapper in the hood.

Back in the very early 80's (80 or 81) my friend next door threw a rod in his car, so he towed it to the crusher. They gave him like $100 bucks for it and he got to watch them crush it. It was a 69 HEMI GTX !!!!! Holy Fuck.

Bell bottom jeans

Bell bottoms were started by the Navy way back when. They caught on in mid-60's 'fashion' because the hippies could buy surplus navy britches for 50 cents a pair. Pea coats & dungaree shirts were popular back then too. All Navy surplus stuff.
