all i have to say is that i envy everyone with a bike and no snow. Ive got 4 wheels sitting in my garage just dying to get out, and when they do, they will be met with a barrage of frost heaves and pot holes. I just hope they do some good work on the roads this year so i can flex my GSXR

How are you gonna have those badass bikes and not have any new pictures of them?

Consider this a placeholder for pictures of my new SV once my camera decides to work.

Some more changes to the 900RR streetfighter.

Cut and rewelded the tail to use a SV650 tail section. Changed the headlights to Buell headlights. Removed the old side mount dampner and installed a GSXR front mount dampner. Cleaned her up a lot.

Starting to come together.

SV650 w/ integrated turn signals is the sexiest tail piece for a bike ever, IMO.

I wish my GSXR's was as cool, instead of the wide & flat look.

That is the truth!  I love the old singles from the '30s through the '60s.  Very elemental, I 'd love to have one for just tooling around my neighborhood on.

I will probably go with the yellow, it matches to a late model Nissan Xterra. A very small chance I'll go blue, but I'm really leaning to the yellow. I'll be adding custom flush LED's to the undertail for rear turns and some short stalk LED's for the fronts. I currently have a front rim out to be straightened so I can switch to a 17" front rim. As soon as its back I'll be getting new tires. Thinking either Pilot Powers or Continental Road Attacks. Kind of depends on price and tire life. I can't get a straight answer on mileage on the PP's I've seen from 2500 to 6000?!? Not clear enough for me.

From my other thread. This is hts only pic I have so far since it has been raining non-stop since I bought it! I swear, farmers in drought country could hire me to bring rain. I'd just fly there and buy a motorcycle.

2004 Yamaha V-Star 650. It's in immaculate condition and has only 4240 miles on it. If it even dries up, I'll ride it.

Michelin has a special promotion right now.  If you purchase a pair of Pilot Power tires (any size, any version), they will include a white flag as a bonus.

I'm going to need a front tire soon. I'm thinking of going with the PP 2CT's. Since I commute on my bike I do a fair amount of highway miles, and I thought that the harder compound in the middle might be a good compromise. What's your take on them?

The PP 2CT's have the same compound as PP in the middle, with even softer on the sides.  The Pilot (I think) Road 2 (or 2CT) has a harder compound (touring) in the middle, with softer compounds on the sides.

They're probably fine tires, but I won't buy them because Michelin is a French Company, hence the "white flag" joke.

I'm leaning more and more to the Continental Road Attacks or Sport Attacks. But I'm still not sure. I don't race, hell I don't even do track days. I guess I'll just find a decent sale and deal with it.

I found it for sale at the local chain saw shop about a year ago.  It has 1384.3 original miles on it and I'm the second owner.  I wouldn't have been caught dead on one when they were new, but now that I'm an old f@ck, I think it's kind of neat.

Mileage depends on a lot of factors. how hard you are on tires (generally, faster riding = faster tire wear), weight of bike, power of bike, how much you twist the throttle, air pressure you run, road surfaces, ambient temperature, etc, etc.

If you are concerned with mileage and are not pushing it, you might want to look into ST tires.

P.S. I WISH I could get 2500 miles from a PP. Oh yea, and the PP2CTs are crap.

Sweet bike. Looks like an exhaust leak at the collector though.

I envy those who have PUSHED that bike.

As a Harley owner, post V-Max owner, passed on the '99 Busa. I love ALL bikes.

No, no leak, just an odd angle/reflection. I havent really pushed that one yet, she'll be more of a track slut than anyhting. But, I am riding it to Deals Gap next month(last years trip on the R1 killed my back). Its definetly impressive, and though it doesnt corner as well as the R1, I was told yesterday that the rear is chirping every shift that my Harley friends can hear as i pass.  I envy the V-Max.  That will be my last bike purchase. I had a V-Rod rental last year and was horribly dissapointed.
