Was that Dawson rail put on by Wilson? I tried to get them to do a CQB with a Dawson rail and they wouldn't. Gave me some excuse about the dimensions of their frames not being able to do it....
|
|
What would Jack Bauer do?
|
He was talking about it actually. He was saying he wanted Wilson to do it but Wilson just told him to send it to Dawson. So thats what he did. I think the rail being on the gun is somewhat new, so I doubt he can say much on it, but I will ask him next time he's in, which Im sure it will be in the next few days.

I just learned about the VZ grips the other day and now after seeing the pics in here I think I may have to get a pair.
They have some really damn good lookin grips with what looks to be a kick ass texture on them. |
|
Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you.

Nice.

I would be poor if I managed a gun shop! |
||

I think they are great. I like a few different style, their Diamond Backs, Opperators and Gator Backs all have good texture to them. They make two pairs that I know of that are not listed on their site that you might consider thinking about. They make an Aggressive Opperator that are just like their Opperators, but with a more coarse texture. I think there's a picture of them on SGB's Springfield Professional above. Then, there's the Aliens which I've mentioned ond put a few pics of. Get a pair! I think you'll love them! |

Giant pictures were getting on my nerve so went to one of my old hosts. Pictures are a little smaller, but I think thats better than GIANT!
Guy who bought the first Vickers gun we had bought a piar of Mil-Tac G10 grips. I think they were great! We had two customers Vickers guns in at the same time! Couple people asked why I havent put any pics of my guns up? I dont know? Here's my Talon II. I had it finished in Black Diamond, bobtailed, barrel cut flush with bushing, stippling on front strap and MSH, stippling on top and bottom of slide lock lever, stippling on mag release, opposite side of slide lock cut flush with frame (like on GRP's). JohnnyEgo's Kimber TLE/RL II with SA magwell and FDCC logo'd Alumagrips. |

Got a few more to share. Coincidentally, all of todays guns feature Simonich Gunner Grips!:
First is my own Kimber Desert Warrior. I've had the trigger smoothed over and all the MIM replaced with Ed Brown Hard Core and Wilson Bullert Proof parts (work done by SGB). I had Rogers Precision golf ball the MSH, front strap, bottom of grip safety, mag release, underside of slide lock and mainspring plug. He also flattened the opposite side of the slide lock and beveled the frame around it. I had Nighthawk refinish the gun and parts with their Perma Coat tan and black. I put the gunner grips on all by myself! Next is another Les Baer Thunder Ranch that had another set of Gunner Grips put on them Last is the CQB Compact pictured from the first page. Guy had us order him a magwell finished in Armor Tuff and put a pair of the new Officer size Gunner Grips on. I really like this gun: |

Man I love that golf ball texture from Rogers precision, how long was the turn around?
|
|
Joe | AIM: jjt 1081
|
Well, once you get your gun to him, the turn around isnt too long. The biggest issue is getting your gun in. Due to what I believe is a long backlog, he is not really accepting work at the moment. However, I seem to remember him saying that when he tools up to do a job similar to what you may be looking for, he will accept some guns to do the same work. Send him an email or IM and tell him what you want. If he can fit you in, Im sure he will. And I can tell you from experience, you want it!!!!

Nifty, I'll have to keep that in mind when I get a few extra dollars laying around. If you don't mind me asking, what is the ballpark price for that service? I realize prices change, and optional work is priced accordingly, but I'm just curious as to a ballpark figure. |

New pics for page four...
New-argirls well worn Kimber Warrior! It's one of the first 500 released with real Novak's. She has had SGB replace all the MIM with Ed Brown, S&A and Wilson parts. The grips change regularly between a set of tan or OD Gunners and the Black VZ Diamond Backs it's wearing here. Never been a huge fan of Para, but one of the distributors called us on some model they have that supports the NRA in some way, so we picked one up. Stainless PX14. Rear sights are white dot, front is a red Fiber Optic. The mag had some very strange flakey coating on it. While we usually dont carry these, last one we had sold quick. Lets see if someone picks this one up? New Nighthawk Dominator. Pretty nice! Hard Chrome frame and parts, Black PermaKoat slide. Rear of slide is serrated to match the serrations on the rear adjustable night sights. Barrel is cut flush with bushing, blended magwell. Nice! More to follow, and now there's a little better pic of the Dominator! |

Only way I would own a Kimber is if SGB went to town on it...
Nice Kimber and great work by one of the good guys! I am sure she will run like a bat out of hell!!! PS SGB, get outta FL! Come back to MI, we need all the LE we can get around here (even if they are just living as private citizens) with the way our wonderful Governatrix is laying off State Troopers cuz shes too lazy to cut spending where it needs to be chopped! Also, that way I may finally get to add an SGB gun to my collection! |

I'd say that Kimber SGB worked on shoots! It is probably approaching being 3 years old and has been shot quite a bit. Kerri (new-argirl) used it in a class once, and she loaned it to me to use for a class while my own Desert Warrior (pictured elswhere in this thread) was out being worked on. Needless to say... the gun runs GREAT!

Pretty good 1911 weekend...
First is a Colt Series 80 Govt Model with a set of OD Crimson Trace Laser Grips one of the Jacksonville Jaguars picked out. We bought this gun off of a big chain that was getting out of the handgun business. Its been handled quite a bit and someone gave it a little idiot mark! Next is a Kimber Pro CDP. I dont know if I pictured this one earlier, we've had it a few months. Showed the customer a few pairs of grips he might want when he picks the gun up next week! I'm sure I pictured this one earlier. One of our regulars picked up the Lightweight Champion Springfield. He added a Wilson extended slide stop and some VZ Aliens... my last pair! I'll be ordering a few more on Monday to replace whats sold. Only thing I have new to show now is a S&W 1911PD. Scandium frame and tan Crimson Trace laser grips. I'll add the new stock to the thread on Tuesday or Wednesday. Also added a better pic of the Dominator above. |

Keep your fingers crossed, Im pretty sure the Ed Brown Jim Wilson gun sold, and I think these two guys will be coming back to pick up a Nighthawk Talon II (not pictured in this thread) and a the Colt Special Combat pictured on the first page.

Ed Brown Jim Wilson Special from page 1 and that Colt Special Combat from page 2 are gone. Here's some new ones in this week!
Kimber Gold Combat II, we've got one of these in Stainless as well. I was surprised to find out that the KimPro finish gun actually cost a little more than their Stainless? Colt XSE Government Model. Nice, clean looking gun, a few upgrades from their standard 1991 series, still at a good price. Kimber Compact CDP II. The officer frame, 4" barrel guns are growing on me. This one came in with a much nicer pattern on the wood than any of the others CDP's I have seen from Kimber. You can tell the difference in these from the Pro CDP pictured just above. Another Nighthawk 10-8 came in today, yummy! I'm sure I've mentioned this is their catalog model I like best. This is the first one we've gotten in with the Black VZ Diamondbacks. I think I like it better than the green ones we've had previously. And this is the one and only Ed Brown Special Forces model I have had. Customer came in to shoot it this week. Of the guns he has (Kimber Custom Shop, Wilson, Nighthawk and this Ed Brown) he says this is the one he likes best! I should have another here in a couple months. |

few new guns to show today...
First are a couple customer guns. Older Kimber model Stainless Custom II. He added a set of VZ Operators. Next is another customers gun. This was one of the very first Nighthawks we got in. Talon in sniper grey with black slide. First pic is with the factory NHC logo Alumagrips. Next is the same gun with a set of Simonich Gunner Grips. I think I like the flat bottom Gunners better on this one. Couple other Nighthawks I have had a little while, but never pictured here. All black Talon with NHC logo Alumagrips And a Talon II with Bobtail. Sniper Grey frame and black slide, NHC Alumagrips Thats all today |

I wish things were *that* good! While all of them pictured in the thread sold from here (unless otherwise noted), not all of these sold within the time frame of the thread. Many of them had sold prior to this thread starting. A safe guess would be to say that the great majority sold within the past 12 months or so. But Im certainly not complaining... business is good. Should be another special order Vickers gun coming in tomorrow. Guy picked up his Ed Brown Jim Wilson yesterday (he got a cool shark skin holster for it). Special ordered another Wilson Professional yesterday, just like the one pictured earlier, but with a bobtail. Still waiting on a Les Baer Stinger and a Ed Brown Special Forces. Trying hard to find another Colt Special Combat and Stainless Gold Cup for a guy today. No distributor I go through has any except for a blue Gold Cup. |

What a weird Thursday... maybe it is because of recent events, but a lot of guns were moving today. The Nighthawk Talon II I just posted a picture of has been here a while, but got sold early this morning.
I'll have some new pics in a few days when some new guns come in, but I've already got a cool pic of a Wilson Protector with Wilson logo VZ grips that we got in for a guy. The new Vickers came and left today. Took in a used Kimber TLE II, and ordered a Les Baer Concept VII (blued commander with night sights) and a hard chrome Nighthawk Talon IV with a bobbed slide lock (like on the GRP) and black NHC logo VZ grips. A lot of us are really interested to see this hard chrome Talon IV (officer size gun). It should be beautiful! |

Slug-O just came in with a couple 1911's that were too cool not to post, so I'll post what I have today. First are his since they are each pretty interesting!
We didnt sell this or the one below. I cant put what kind of gun it is, because I have no idea! I can tell you it has a .22 conversion on it; And with another accessory! Another one of Slug-O's! This is his knock around, go everywhere gun. He customized his ambi safety o work with the CTC Laser grips. We didnt sell this gun either... well, we did sell the grips! Here's the used Kimber TLE we took in on trade today. For the pic, I put a pair of RoCo Walnut stippled grips that we have. I dont know much about them, but I picked up a pair that look like these for my Sig P226. Here's the special order Vickers gun that came in. Much like the other two previously pictured. Customers Wilson Protector, we just put a pair of Wilson logo VZ's on it for him. He loves them! |
