Eight - are you the only one getting one, or are there others from the Montgomery/Prattville?wetumpka area as well? I am thinking a lot about getting one. |
As far as I know, I am the only one that would want mine shipped to this area. I have contacted others, but no luck.
Hey Beetle, add me to the confirmed list. Send me an IM on how you want me to get payment to you.
click the "email user" button at the top here and let me know that details of what you want |
email sent! Promise not to hit me. |
is there still time to get in on this? where's Combat Arms located?
is anyone in baton rouge available to talk to larry to send a copy of his FFL? I would but I'm about to get put on straight days for a few months.
I'll mail my payment for my two within the week, sorry for the delay. |
I figured I would call him when the orders are confirmed and this was ready to go. He has done a lot of transfers for me that way. I just call and give the info and he faxes it out, when it gets in he calls me.
Where is Combat Arms in Shelby County? That is a big place and could be a long way to drive for some. Anyone checked with an FFL in Jefferson County to handle a mass volume?
you could ride with me |
That's a hundred miles from here |
he is usually up around north bham on thursdays you could always meet him then or find an ffl close to you.
North B'ham would be fine. Got a guy who will do it free but would like to help out a member here, especially one who volunteered to handle this. Just didn't want to go a 100 miles. N. B'ham is close |
from what I understand, FFLs have to sign off on firearms at their legal place of business per the ATF, otherwise we really could have ice cream trucks selling firearms at any street corner. |
IIRC CAI wasn't charging for the transfers for those that wanted to pick them up anyway.
ATF requires FFL's to do transfers at either the address on their license or a legitimate gun show. These are the ONLY acceptable locations. Additionally, the gun shows MUST be within the same state as the licensed address, you can not cross state lines and do transfers at a gun show. You can take the product, show it and take all the orders you like but you must then ship the product from your licensed address to a FFL in the state of residence of the client. Your not even allowed to transfer the item to an "in state" dealer at the show, you must ship it from the licensed address. Yes, you can transfer to another in state dealer at a show in your own state (that happens all the time to facilitate the mandatory 3 day wait as needed) but to do that at the show, it must be a show in your state of license. Hope that helps, Jon K. Edited to add: I posted it and re-read it to be sure it looked correct, and even I was confused. It is a pain in the butt, and as with many ATF rules, confusing. Read it again, it will start to make sense after about 3 or 4 reads....lol. - JK |
don't forget, we have guys from MS in here also. expecting them read may be a stretch |

I am sorry to hear that orders are closed. I wanted to get a response from someone else before placing an order, but I guess that we missed out.
B.B.,
I was wondering what had been chosen on the size for the AR15.com ? Large or Small? thanks, Billybeer |
gunham - response from who? Billy - the large. honestly it does look better than the small in person. I mean, if ya'll want to have an official tally, post a poll. I can get better comparative pictures if that happens |
Watch it there buddy |
Since we have reached the limit, I guess you will order when all the funds come in (instead of keeping the order open for 45 days)? Come on peeps, send that $$$.
Since the limit is 50, are they going to be numbered "1 of 50, 2of 50" ect? I guess we should have thought of that on the front end uh?
Beetle, I'm still alive. Sent you an IM. I guess someone here could have answered my question, though. Are we making payment payable to Anvil Arms, or to Beetle ? As soon as i get this info, My money will be on the way to you. Edit---got info-payable to Beetle. Thanks. (payment made)
To BeetleBailey. Sorry that I wasn't clearer, but I wanted to see if a relative wanted one before placing an order. He is heavy into building things and I thought that he might be interested, but I could never get a hold of him. Thanks.
p.s. staff said to contact them if we hit/exceed 50, I have IM'ed with an official request but have not heard back yet, in case those of you initially excluded are still interested. I'll let you know if and when I hear back. Response to all recent emails/IMs sent. |
Payment made. Now the fun part,...waiting for the cool stuff.
FYI, I'll probably be cashing all the funds in the next couple of days since the cut off is Tuesday. I can't wait to submit orders Wednesday. How do you all feel about me posting the spreadsheet (just with screennames and the text you are wanting) to ensure order accuracy? Also, again, I am assuming everyone will want to go with the standard arial font rather than the all caps font as shown in the sample lower, unless you tell me otherwise. |
Is it too late to get in on this?
I would be grouped in with the Baton Rouge guys. |
I can go to the post office within the hour with a next day USPS MO for $103. That puts it to your door either tomorrow or Saturday, depending on if the USPS decides to send it today. If this is good, shoot me an IM with your name and address and I am off to the PO. |
Payment sent off today. USPS money order. It will be in your box on monday, they couldn't guarentee saturday due to your post office closes early, so it might be there on sat but count on monday.
No problem with showing the sheet. Personally, I like the lettering style on the sample lower. I guess it really doesn't matter, whatever you think will look good. They're going to be cool either way we go.
check will be in the mail tomorrow. I didnt have time to do a money order. Sorry for the delay, things have been crazy.
yeah, it does look good. I still haven't heard anything from any other of you goobers |
Showing the sheet would be cool and thanks for all the updates. Me and my upper are somewhat patiently waiting.
BB, sorry for the delay. Wife dropped payment for 4 lowers off at the Post Office today. Should be there Monday, I would think....
Lettering on the sample looks good to me with the large logo. Also it may just be the pic but will the finish be smooth on the lowers? It looks textured to me in the pics. |
